Description

SkillTree

SkillTree is a complete RPG-style progression system for Minecraft Bedrock Edition. Level up seven skills by playing the game normally, spend the skill points you earn on a per-skill perk tree, unlock achievements and titles, and prestige a maxed skill for a permanent bonus. Everything is built on the official, stable @minecraft/server and @minecraft/server-ui Script APIs — no experimental toggles required.

Features

  • 7 progression skills, each leveling independently from 1 to 100 through normal survival play
  • 150 perks across the seven skill trees, with branching paths and a capstone perk at the top of each
  • Skill Points: earned every level, with bonus points at milestone levels
  • 52 achievements built on real, tracked gameplay statistics
  • 91 titles — six level-tier titles per skill plus milestone/achievement-earned titles — equippable once unlocked
  • Prestige: reset a maxed skill for a permanent, stacking XP bonus (up to 5 tiers)
  • Adventurer's Journal: a single item that opens the entire SkillTree interface
  • Persistent progression: stored in each player's own data, independent of the pack files
  • Custom UI built entirely with Minecraft's native form system
  • Handcrafted 16×16 pixel-art icons — 157 unique skill and perk icons plus fixed navigation icons, one consistent color identity per skill

The Seven Skills

  • Mining — Digging, ore-finding, and everything that happens underground.
  • Combat — Fighting hostile mobs and bosses, and surviving to tell about it.
  • Fishing — Patient, steady value from a fishing rod and a bit of luck.
  • Woodcutting — Felling trees, in bulk and in a hurry.
  • Farming — Growing crops and raising animals — steady, sustainable yield.
  • Cooking — Turning raw ingredients into food, a light and frequent side-skill.
  • Exploration — Discovery over familiarity — biomes, landmarks, and distance covered.

Progression

Playing normally earns XP for each skill: mining ore, defeating mobs, catching fish, felling trees, harvesting crops, cooking food, and exploring new biomes and landmarks all count toward their respective skill. XP fills a level, each level grants a Skill Point (with bonus points at milestone levels), and Skill Points are spent unlocking perks in that skill's tree. Perks range from small passive bonuses to build-defining capstones at the top of each tree.

Perks

Each of the 7 skills has its own perk tree, built from a total of 150 perks. Trees branch into different playstyles — utility, specialization, and raw power — before converging on a capstone perk that ties the tree together. The in-game Perks screen shows the full tree for whichever skill you're viewing, with clear locked/unlocked/affordable states.

Achievements & Titles

52 achievements track real milestones — first-time moments and larger totals — across all seven skills. 91 titles are earned two ways: six level-tier titles per skill (Novice through Legendary, at levels 1/20/40/60/80/100) and additional titles awarded by specific achievements. Unlocked titles can be equipped from the Titles screen and are shown alongside your name in the SkillTree UI.

Prestige

Once a skill reaches level 100, it can be prestiged: the skill resets to level 1 with 0 XP, but everything else that matters keeps its value — your unlocked perks, spent Skill Points, lifetime XP total, and all statistics and achievement progress are untouched. Each prestige tier grants a small, permanent, stacking bonus to XP gain in that skill (up to 5 tiers).

Adventurer's Journal

The Adventurer's Journal is automatically given to every player the first time they join the world. Right-click (use) the Journal to open the SkillTree menu — skills, perks, achievements, titles, prestige, and statistics are all reachable from there. Journal aside, the same menu is reachable with a chat command (see Installation).

Visual Design

SkillTree ships with a fully custom, handcrafted pixel-art icon system: 157 unique 16×16 icons across the 7 skills' skill and perk buttons, each skill built around its own consistent color identity, plus dedicated pack branding artwork for the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack. No placeholder or borrowed vanilla textures are used for skill/perk icons.

Installation

  1. Download SkillTree-v1.0.6.mcaddon.
  2. Open it with Minecraft — both the SkillTree Behavior Pack and Resource Pack import together.
  3. Create a new world, or edit an existing one.
  4. Under Behavior Packs, activate SkillTree. If Minecraft prompts you to activate the linked SkillTree Resources pack, accept it. Before entering the world, verify that both SkillTree packs are active.
  5. Enter the world — no experimental toggles need to be enabled.
  6. You'll receive an Adventurer's Journal automatically on first join. Right-click (use) it to open the SkillTree menu, or run /skilltree:skills in chat (works without cheats).

Compatibility

  • Platform: Minecraft Bedrock Edition only — not compatible with Java Edition.
  • Minimum engine version: 1.21.0 (declared in both packs' manifests).
  • Tested on: Minecraft Bedrock for Windows v26.42.
  • Direct console installation support has not been tested; if you play on console, confirm your platform's process for importing .mcaddon files before relying on this addon there.

Notes

SkillTree is a Bedrock Edition addon: it ships as one Behavior Pack (game logic) and one Resource Pack (icons, text, pack branding), distributed together as a single .mcaddon file. Both packs are required and linked — activating one will prompt you to activate the other.
