1. Introduction & Basic Function
Simple Respawn Timer is a lightweight Minecraft Bedrock add-on that introduces a progressive respawn timer system, making death more challenging and meaningful.
Instead of immediately returning to Survival Mode after death, players enter Spectator Mode and must wait for a countdown to finish before continuing their adventure.
The more times you die, the longer your respawn timer becomes!
2. Features & Detailed Functions
Progressive Respawn Timer
The respawn timer increases based on the player's total number of deaths.
- First death: 10 seconds.
- Second death: 20 seconds.
- Third death: 30 seconds.
- Each additional death adds 10 seconds.
- Maximum cooldown: 210 seconds (3 minutes and 30 seconds).
Once the maximum cooldown is reached, the timer will no longer increase.
Spectator Mode
After pressing the Respawn button, players automatically enter Spectator Mode until the countdown ends.
During this period, players can freely explore the world, fly around, and pass through blocks.
Countdown Display & Sound Effects
When the cooldown begins, a red "YOU DIED!" title appears, accompanied by a countdown subtitle and an anvil sound effect.
Once the timer finishes, players receive a green "ENJOY THE GAME!" title with an XP level-up sound.
Offline Cooldown System
The countdown continues based on real-world time, even when players leave the world.
If a player rejoins before the cooldown ends, the remaining time will continue.
If the cooldown has already expired, the add-on automatically restores the player's gameplay.
Automatic Recovery & Protection
When the countdown finishes:
- Players automatically return to Survival Mode.
- Players are teleported to their respawn point or the world spawn.
- Players receive Resistance 225 for 10 seconds.
- Normal gameplay resumes automatically.
Multiplayer Support
Each player has an independent death counter and respawn timer.
The system also prevents players from bypassing their cooldown simply by changing their gamemode.

Simple Respawn Timer is designed to make Minecraft survival more challenging while keeping the experience simple and enjoyable.
