Duels Add-On

Bring competitive PvP battles to your world with the Duels Add-On! Create custom arenas, design unique kits, and challenge players in fast-paced 1v1 battles.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Be sure to read the Dependencies section below. Required actions and downloads are listed there. Need help? Join the Discord server for support (link on the right).

Dependencies (Required & Recommended)

Required: Turn ON the 'Beta APIs' toggle in your world under Settings -> Experiments. This add-on will NOT work without it.

Required: Download the Icons Pack so menus and icons display correctly.

Highly Recommended: Download the Custom UI Pack for the best visual experience.

How to Use

⚔️ Dueling (Players)

Use the command /duels:duel (or simply /duel) to open the Duels menu.

• Every available kit is displayed as a large button. Select one to join that kit's queue.
• Use Quick Play at the top of the menu to join the global queue and find the fastest available match, regardless of kit.
• View your personal statistics using the Statistics button.
• View the global rankings using the Leaderboards button.

🛡️ Create/Manage Kits (Admins)

Manage kits with the /duels:manage_kits command. Operator permissions are required.

Create a Kit

Select Create New Kit, enter a name (and optionally an icon path), then press Submit. A new kit will be created using the items currently in your inventory.

Delete a Kit

Select a kit, choose Delete Kit, then confirm by pressing Yes.

Rename or Change the Icon

Select a kit, choose Change Name/Icon, edit the name and/or icon path, then press Submit.

Update Kit Items

Select a kit, choose Change Items, then confirm. The kit's contents will be replaced with the items currently in your inventory.

Equip a Kit

Select a kit and choose Equip Kit to load its contents into your inventory. This is useful for testing or editing kits.

Blacklist Maps

Select Blacklist Maps after choosing a kit. Blacklisted maps will never be selected when players duel using that kit.

🗺️ Create/Manage Maps (Admins)

Manage maps with the /duels:manage_maps command. Operator permissions are required.

Create a Map

Select Create New Map, enter a map name, then press Submit.

The addon will guide you through the setup using action bar messages:

1. Select the first corner of the arena by left-clicking (or hitting) a block.
2. Select the opposite corner.
3. Choose the two player spawn locations.

Once all steps are complete, you'll see a summary of the map settings. Press Submit to finish creating the map.

Delete a Map

Select a map, choose Delete Map, then confirm by pressing Yes.

Rename a Map

Select a map, choose Change Name, edit the name, then press Submit.

Place a Map

Select a map and choose Place Map in World to paste it into your world for editing or inspection.

You'll be asked to confirm the action before the map is placed.

🎁 Setting rewards for winning and/or losing (Admins)

Want to add/remove EXP, a currency or something else when a player wins or loses a duel? Configure your own commands that trigger using the following commands:

• /duels:on_win, write down as many commands as you'd like seperated by a comma (,). They will all be executed as the player (meaning @s will target the player) once a player wins a duel.
• /duels:on_lose, write down as many commands as you'd like seperated by a comma (,). They will all be executed as the player (meaning @s will target the player) once a player loses a duel.

🏆 Reset statistics (Admins)

Did someone cheat or break your rules? You can reset their statistics using /duels:reset_statistics <target(s)> <stat>. To reset all statistics for a player, use "all" or the "*" wildcard.
