Description
Description:
Runes and Steel is an addon for Minecraft Bedrock Edition that expands the combat system by introducing 16 new weapons, including swords, blades, and historical arms, inspired by real-world weapons used throughout history.
Each weapon is designed to reflect its historical purpose and combat role, with active or passive abilities directly tied to how these weapons were used in real life, adapted to Minecraft’s mechanics. This approach aims to deliver a more authentic and coherent combat experience without compromising balance or gameplay.
The addon also features a rune system that grants passive abilities to the player. These runes can be combined with the new weapons to create unique synergies, adding a magical layer that complements the historical realism while enabling diverse combat styles.
Runes and Steel is ideal for players seeking deeper, more strategic combat grounded in realism and enhanced by carefully integrated magical elements.
Weapons:

1. Bo: A positioning-focused weapon. It can be planted into the ground, lifting the wielder 3 blocks high, granting a height advantage and better combat control.
2. Dagger: Light and fast. While held, it grants movement speed to the wielder, ideal for quick strikes and constant repositioning.
3. Estoc: Built to pierce defenses. On hit, it has a chance to break enemy armor, with higher success against lower-tier armor.
4. Flamberge: Specialized against fiery foes. When striking enemies that are on fire, it extinguishes the flames and triggers a delayed explosion that damages the target after one second. This effect always triggers against fire-based enemies.
5. Gladius: An aggressive assault weapon. When used, it grants Speed and Strength to the wielder for a few seconds.
6. Katana: Precision and discipline. After a short charge time, the next attack gains Strength IV, rewarding patience and timing.
7. Macuahuitl: Brutal and unforgiving. When hitting non-undead enemies, it applies Bleeding, causing damage over time.
8. Rapier: Elegant and agile. When used, the wielder performs a short forward dash, perfect for dodging, closing gaps, or repositioning.
9. Sacrificial Sword: Power at a cost. When used, it damages the wielder in exchange for Strength III for a short duration.
10. Sai: Adaptive by design. With another sai in the off-hand: when used, it grants Resistance and Slowness temporarily. Without an off-hand sai: on hit, it has a chance to break the enemy’s weapon.
11. Scimitar: Mastery of frontal combat. When used, it unleashes three consecutive sweeping slashes forward, each increasing in damage and range.
12. Scythe: An executioner’s tool. When attacking non-boss enemies, it has a chance to instantly execute them. On a successful execution, the wielder receives Weakness and Slowness for a short time.
13. Sickle: Crowd-focused weapon. It has a chance to strike enemies near the target; the more nearby enemies there are, the higher the damage and attack probability.
14. Warrior Axe: Raw force unleashed. On hit, it damages and knocks back all enemies within a 3.5 block radius.
15. Catalyst Dagger: Experience-driven weapon. When killing enemies, it may generate 1 to 4 extra experience orbs, with a 1% chance to also create an experience bottle. For every 10 experience levels, it gains +1 damage, up to +4 at level 30.
16. Corrupted Blade: An irreversible bond. Killing enemies stores soul fragments that can be summoned as Hexes to aid in battle. Up to 9 Hexes can be active, disappearing after a few seconds. On first use, the blade binds to the wielder, making it impossible to discard even after death.
Runes:

1. Rune of Absorption: When taking damage, it grants the wielder 4 absorption hearts, providing temporary protection.
2. Rune of Blood: On hit, it heals 1 HP. This effect is more effective with AOE attacks, rewarding aggressive playstyles.
3. Rune of Drain: When the wielder takes damage, the attacker is afflicted with Weakness and Slowness for a few seconds, with a chance to also receive damage.
4. Rune of Echo: On hit, it deals delayed damage equal to 50% of the original attack after one second.
5. Rune of Prosperity: When an enemy is defeated, it has a chance to generate extra loot, which can be Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Epic.
How to Obtain Runes
Runes can be obtained by exploring the world and discovering a new type of structure known as Runic Altars. There are five different types of Runic Altars, one for each rune. The type of altar determines which rune can be obtained from it.
At the center of each Runic Altar stands a pillar engraved with the rune it grants. By interacting with the rune block on this pillar, the rune is transferred directly to the player, binding itself to the wielder. This interaction also summons hostile Hexes as a challenge.
A player can only have one rune bound at a time. If a rune is already bound, no additional runes can be obtained until the current one is removed.
To remove a bound rune, players must use Empty Runes. These can be found inside chests from certain structures, such as treasure chests and mineshafts. Additionally, Empty Runic Deepslate has a small chance to drop an Empty Rune when broken.
Using an Empty Rune extracts the currently bound rune from the player and stores it inside the rune, turning it into a rune item. Using this item again will consume it and bind the stored rune to the new wielder.
What are Hexes and how can I control them?

Hexes are small fragments of souls, related to the Allay and Vex families, but with distinct behaviors and mechanics. While they share some visual and behavioral traits with these entities, Hexes are neither fully benevolent nor inherently hostile by nature.
Currently, the only way to control Hexes is through the Corrupted Blade. When controlled, Hexes become allied to the wielder and will aggressively attack any nearby creature, with the exception of players. They remain active for a limited time before dissipating.
Hexes can also be summoned by interacting with Runic Altars. In this case, they are hostile to nearby players and act as guardians of the altar. These Hexes are not permanently aggressive and will stop attacking after a period of time.
