Hi guys So i am back again with a brand new add-on and this one is probably my favorite idea ever. If you guys have ever played any of the GTA games you know how fun it is to get a wanted level and run away from the cops. It is literally the best part of the game.
I was playing minecraft survival the other day and I realized there are absolutely no consequences for doing bad things. You can just blow up a whole village with TNT or kill all your friends dogs and the game doesnt care at all. It feels kind of empty. So i spent a lot of time writing a custom script to bring a full GTA style crime and police system into minecraft. This is the Wanted Level addon and it will make your multiplayer realms so much more chaotic and fun.
How Crimes And Reputation Work
The core of this pack is the crime tracking system. Every single bad thing you do is now tracked by the game. If you kill a cow or a pig you get a little bit of wanted level. But if you do something really evil like killing a baby animal, a tamed pet, or a panda, the game gives you a massive penalty. There is also a system that tracks serial killers. If you kill multiple players in a row or do a mass animal slaughter, your wanted level shoots up instantly.
All these crimes also affect your global Reputation. You start as a Neutral citizen but if you keep doing crimes you drop down to Troublemaker, Criminal, and eventually Public Enemy. It is really cool to see your rank change based on how evil you play. You can check all your stats and your exact reputation score by sneaking while holding a normal Book. This opens the main UI menu where everything is tracked.
The Wanted Stars System
So when you commit crimes you gain wanted stars from level 1 to level 5. Level 1 is just Suspicious, you get some warning messages on your screen. But at level 2 things get real. The game officially marks you as a Criminal and spawns 2 pillager bounty hunters to kill you. At level 3 you are Dangerous, you get a glowing effect so everyone can see you and 4 hunters spawn. Level 4 is Most Wanted where you get slowness and darkness effects and ravagers start hunting you. But if you somehow hit 5 stars you trigger the Death Squad.
The screen goes dark, you get blindness, you hear a terrifying heartbeat sound, and 8 extreme hunters including wither skeletons and evokers spawn right on top of you to execute you. It is pure panic when you hit 5 stars. Oh and the wanted level slowly decays over time if you hide. If you stop doing crimes for 30 seconds the game realizes you are hiding and your wanted level goes down faster. Sometimes you even get a lucky escape where a star drops instantly.
Bounty Board And Multiplayer
This pack is completely insane on multiplayer servers. When you reach 2 stars or higher the game automatically puts a coin bounty on your head. Other real players on the server can actually hunt you down. If they kill you they claim your bounty coins and get a massive reputation boost for serving justice. Anybody can open the UI menu with a book and click on the Bounty Board to see exactly who is wanted and how much money they are worth.
There is also a Leaderboard tab in the menu so you can see the top 5 worst criminals on the server and the top 5 best bounty hunters. It basically creates a whole cops and robbers minigame on your realm without any command blocks.
Random Events And Easter Eggs
I also added some cool world events that happen randomly every 5 minutes. Sometimes the server will announce that patrols are increased, or bounties are doubled for 5 minutes. My favorite is the Amnesty event where the game randomly forgives all players who only have 1 star and clears their wanted level for free. I also threw in some secret easter eggs.
If you hit exactly 69 or 420 or 100 total crimes the game sends you a funny whisper message. Also if you have zero stars you will sometimes hear police scanner messages telling you that the sector is clear.
Beta APIs Setup
You guys already know what to do here. Because this pack uses the custom scripts to track all your crimes and manages the bounty board UI menus, you absolutely must turn on the Beta APIs experiment in your world settings.
If you dont toggle this on nothing will work and you can just kill villagers without getting any wanted stars. So please check your settings.
