RR Chat RPG - Interactive Combat

Introduction

​Whats up guys Racing Raftaar here back with another insane behavior pack. I know a lot of you play survival minecraft and sometimes you just get bored of the regular vanilla combat. You just spam click your sword and the zombie dies and you take its rotten flesh. It is not really strategic at all and gets repetitive. I play a lot of old school turn based rpg games on my phone and i always wondered what if we had that exact same system inside minecraft. So i spent a lot of time coding and testing and today i am releasing the RR Chat RPG addon. This pack literally puts a full classic role playing game right inside your screen using the new UI menus. You dont need to build anything or setup complicated command blocks you just join your world and your adventure begins immediately with a starter pack.

​How The Interactive Combat Works

​The biggest feature in this update is the combat system. In my older tests the battles were just automatic and boring but now i made it completely interactive turn by turn. When you hold your Blaze Rod and sneak it opens the main menu. You click on Explore and pick a location. Suddenly a wild monster appears on your screen and the battle menu opens. Now you actually have to make choices. You get three buttons which are Attack, Use Potion and Run Away. If you choose to attack you will deal damage based on your stats and then the monster will hit you back in the exact same round. It calculates your defense and attack power instantly. If you are about to die you can quickly click the potion button to heal up but the monster still gets a free hit on you while you are drinking it so you have to be careful. If the boss is too strong you can try to run away but there is only a 50 percent chance to escape so it is a huge gamble.

​Locations And Monsters

​You cant just go fight the ender dragon on day one. I added a strict progression system. You start in the Forest biome fighting simple zombies and skeletons. As you win battles you gain XP and level up. Every time you level up your max HP increases and your base attack and defense goes up. The max level is 50. Once you reach level 3 you unlock the Cave where you fight creepers. Then you unlock the Desert, Nether, End and finally the Void Arena at level 30 where you fight the Wither and the Dragon. Every monster drops a specific amount of gold and XP. I made the progression feel really rewarding so you always want to do just one more battle before going to sleep.

​Shop And Inventory System

​All that gold you collect from killing monsters is actually useful. From the main menu you can open the Shop. Here you can spend your hard earned gold to buy better weapons and armor. You start with a basic wood sword but you can upgrade to stone, iron, diamond and eventually the nether sword which gives massive attack damage. You can also buy health potions and big health potions. I even added a secret item called the Lucky Charm which doubles the gold you get from every monster kill. You also have an inventory system that stores up to 20 items so you have to manage your potions carefully before doing a big boss fight.

​Multiplayer PvP And Leaderboards

​This addon is crazy fun on multiplayer realms. I added a full PvP system so you can actually challenge your friends to a turn based duel. If you send a challenge and they accept it, the game calculates both of your stats and simulates a massive battle in the chat.

The winner actually steals gold from the loser and gets a bunch of XP. It gets super competitive. I also added a live leaderboard in the stats menu. You can just hold an End Crystal and sneak to see the quick stats and it will show you exactly who the highest level player on the server is. It makes everyone want to grind levels to be number one.

​Beta APIs Setup

​Because this entire rpg system runs on custom UI menus and dynamic properties to save your exact level, gold and inventory items, you absolutely have to turn on the Beta APIs experiment in your world settings. If you dont turn it on the blaze rod will not open any menus and you wont be able to play the rpg at all. Please make sure you check your experiments tab before you load the game.
