The Otok-Otok is a traditional Indonesian steam-powered toy boat, known for its iconic “tok-tok” sound as it moves across water. Popular since the 1980s, it's commonly found at festivals and night markets, especially in Java, where it's sometimes called “Kapal Sekaten” during the Sekaten fair.

Made from tin and powered by a tiny oil burner, this boat is Indonesia’s take on the classic “pop-pop” steam boat, which also exists in other countries like India and the UK. Each boat uses heat to push steam out and propel itself—simple, nostalgic, and fun to watch!

To build your very own steam boat, combine:

1 Iron Ingot

1 Dye (Red or Blue — more colors coming soon!)

Use a crafting table to select your boat's color!
