To avoid it, you have to stand still and stop all inputs before it shows its stop sign.
If you are caught moving, your screen will be covered in pop-ups and all current items in your inventory will become encrypted and inaccessible. You are then forced to collect 
500 within 90 seconds to recover your items. During this time, gold spawns from containers are drastically increased, and a Honey Pot will be guaranteed to spawn on the floor or inside the drawers of the next room. Upon paying Ransom, the Honey Pot will despawn.
Failure to pay the ransom will result in Ransom attacking you, dealing 55 damage and permanently deleting the encrypted items from your inventory.
