Hunter Combat AI Explained

This is basically the combat brain of the Minecraft Bedrock hunter bot.

🧠 What the Hunter does

The hunter constantly asks:

"Who should I fight, how should I reach them, and what is the best way to attack them?"

It can fight players and hostile mobs, use melee weapons, ranged weapons, shields, special movement, and advanced Minecraft combat techniques.

👀 1. Finding enemies

The hunter searches for:

- Nearby players

- Players discovered by allied hunters

- Hostile mobs when Attack Monsters is enabled

It normally chooses the closest valid target within its detection range.

⚔️ 2. Choosing how to fight

Its attack changes depending on the distance from the target.

Very close:

- Melee attack

- Shield blocking

- Movement around the enemy

- Moving toward or away from them

- Critical hits

🗡️ 3. Melee combat

The hunter can use:

- Swords

- Axes

- Maces

It can sometimes jump and attempt a critical hit.

When falling, it can use the mace for a falling attack.

🛡️ 4. Shield behavior

If the hunter has a shield, it doesn't instantly block every time.

It has a reaction delay, then raises the shield for a limited time before lowering it.

This makes its behavior less predictable.

🏹 5. Ranged combat

At longer distances, it can use available projectiles such as:

- Bow

- Trident

- Snowballs

- Ender Pearls

- Splash Potions

It can periodically change which projectile it prefers.

🧱 6. Dealing with obstacles

If something blocks its ranged attack, it can detect the obstacle instead of simply shooting at it.

General behavior:

Detect obstacle → clear it if possible → resume navigation → continue attacking

It avoids blocks that are considered unbreakable or should be ignored.

🏃 7. Strafing

While using ranged attacks, the hunter can move around the target instead of standing still.

This makes it harder to hit.

🌊 8. Riptide Trident

If the hunter has a Riptide trident and is wet, it can use the trident to launch itself toward the target.

Basically:

Riptide → launch → close the distance → continue fighting

💨 9. Wind Charge + Mace

If the hunter has a mace + wind charge, it can sometimes launch itself upward with the Wind Charge.

Then it:

1. Keeps the mace ready

2. Moves toward the target while airborne

3. Watches its distance from the target

4. Attempts a mace attack when close

5. Ends the combo if it lands or times out

This is essentially a mace smash attack from above.

💎 10. Crystal PvP

If Crystal PvP is enabled and the hunter has an End Crystal, it can look for existing obsidian near the target.

If it finds a suitable spot:

Obsidian → place crystal → attack crystal → retreat

It does not automatically place obsidian.

🎣 11. Fishing Rod

At suitable distances, the hunter can attempt to use a fishing rod to pull the target closer.

🤝 12. Team behavior

Hunters can share target information.

For example:

Hunter A sees enemy → calls enemy → Hunter B receives the information → Hunter B hunts the enemy

This lets hunters work together instead of each one having to discover the enemy independently.

 I made it easier soo
All players having the tag "good" are ignored by the AI hunters so if you wanna make a 10 hunter vs 1 evil hunter you can!
`/tag @s add good`
`/tag @s remove good`
Along with the normal hunter mechanics

Also if you want a hunter to attack a specific hunter just give them mafia tag
(Turn on the toggle to use and turn off if it lags)
`/tag <target name> add mafia`
Like
/tag @e[c=1,type=pig] add mafia will make all the hunters target the pig with the mafia tag
This will make whoever hunter with `mafia` tag a enemy to all ai hunters

🎯 Overall behavior

Find enemy

↓

Check distance

↓

Choose appropriate combat method

↓

Check for special opportunities

↓

Deal with obstacles if necessary

↓

Attack and reposition

↓

Keep tracking the target

In one sentence:

This is a Minecraft Bedrock combat AI that can hunt targets, navigate toward them, choose between melee/ranged/special attacks, use shields, deal with obstacles, strafe, perform mace tricks, use crystals, and cooperate with other hunters.
