PsychCraft introduces a dynamic sanity system into Minecraft, where your mental state matters just as much as your health and hunger. As you explore the world, your character’s sanity will shift based on your surroundings, actions, and encounters.

PsychCraft is an addon that introduces a sanity system into Minecraft, adding a unique twist to survival. A new UI element displays your sanity level, which gradually decreases based on various conditions such as being in the dark, roaming during nighttime, encountering undead mobs, or wielding certain sanity-affecting weapons and armor. As your sanity drops, the world becomes increasingly unstable, leading to strange effects, visual distortions, and more dangerous encounters. Maintaining your sanity becomes as important as managing your health and hunger, adding a new layer of psychological challenge to your gameplay.

SANITY UP AND DOWN:

Staying at night, being near undead mobs, or using sanity weapons and armor will slowly decrease your sanity. When you kill a mob with more than 30 health points, there's a 50% chance it will drop a special item called a Skeleton Bunch. Breaking a Skeleton Bunch will give you 1 to 2 Nightmare Essence.

You can interact with Nightmare Essence to increase your sanity or craft with it. By combining Nightmare Essence with a Heart of the Sea or a Diamond, you can create either Pure Nightmare Essence or a Sanity Ingot. These rare materials are then used to craft powerful sanity-based weapons and armor, which offer great strength but also affect your mental stability.

SANITY WEAPONS:

BASIC CRAFTS:

Combine your Nightmare Essence with the Heart of the Sea in the crafting table to create a Pure Nightmare Essence. Place the Pure Nightmare Essence in a jukebox, then interact with the jukebox using a Diamond Sword, Diamond Pickaxe, or a Mace to craft a Sanity Version of the item.

WEAPONS UPGRADE:

Combine your Nightmare Essence with a Diamond to craft a Sanity Ingot. Then, place the Sanity Ingot on the jukebox and interact with the jukebox using your Sanity Sword to upgrade your Sanity Sword into a Sanity Sphere, the Sanity Sphere into a Scythe, and the Scythe into an UltraStar.

SANITY ARMOR:

While wearing full Diamond Armor, place a Sanity Ingot on a jukebox and interact with a Totem to convert your Diamond Armor into Sanity Armor.

SANITY WEAPON AND ARMOR ABILITY:

By hovering over the weapon or armor on PC and clicking on it, or tapping on it on a phone, it will display all its passive and active abilities, including what they do and how much sanity they require.

Each weapon's active ability has a cooldown, which will be shown to you in chat when you attempt to use the weapon while it's on cooldown.

SANITY EVENTS:

When your sanity is under 30, Zombie, Skeleton, and Creeper will transform into their Sanity Version. These Sanity Mobs have more health and secret abilities that make them more powerful than their counterparts.

When your sanity is under 10, your screen will start showing eyes staring at you, distorting your vision. Additionally, when your sanity is under 10, you will be unable to use your weapons' active abilities.
