Prehistoric Ice Age
Prehistoric Ice Age is a Minecraft Bedrock addon that turns the world into a harsh frozen environment inspired by the Ice Age. Along with prehistoric animals, the addon introduces survival mechanics such as body temperature, thirst, snow blizzards, insulated armor, and more.

Welcome to the Ice Age
When you create a world with the addon, the Overworld is covered in snow. This includes biomes that would normally be warm, such as deserts.
Snowfall and blizzards make exploration more difficult, while the cold environment constantly affects your body temperature.

Watch Your Body Temperature
The cold is not just visual. Your character has a body temperature that changes depending on the environment.
Stay outside in the freezing cold for too long and your temperature will drop. If it gets low enough, you can freeze to death.

Heat can be just as dangerous. Entering extremely hot areas, such as the Nether, causes your temperature to rise. If it becomes too high, you can start taking damage and eventually burn to death.

Because of this, surviving the Ice Age means paying attention to where you are and what equipment you are using.
Campfires Are Important
A campfire can be more than just a light source in the Ice Age.
When you're freezing, staying near a campfire can provide much-needed heat and regeneration. Setting up a warm shelter can make the difference between surviving the night and freezing outside.
Armor Needs Insulation
Normal armor is not automatically suitable for the frozen world.
Wearing armor without insulation can leave you vulnerable to the cold. To make your armor suitable for the environment, you can use Insulation Cloth.

Insulation Cloth can be crafted using the new Padding Table.

The Padding Table provides a dedicated way to create insulation materials and prepare your equipment for the extreme temperatures of the addon.

Once your armor is insulated, you can wear it without having to sacrifice protection just to stay warm.
Surviving the Nether
The Nether presents the opposite problem.
Instead of freezing, the extreme heat can cause your temperature to rise rapidly. Staying there without protection can eventually kill you.
To deal with this, the addon introduces Ice Armor. It is designed to help keep you cool while exploring hot environments.

Ice Armor can also be insulated, giving you another way to manage temperature while still protecting yourself.

Stay Hydrated
The addon also introduces a thirst system.
Water is no longer something you only drink when you happen to find it. Staying hydrated becomes another part of surviving in the frozen world.
The WaterSkin gives you a way to carry water while exploring.

You can also heat your WaterSkin using a furnace, giving you another useful tool for dealing with the cold.

Prehistoric Animals
The Ice Age would not be complete without prehistoric animals.
Several creatures can naturally spawn throughout the world, making the frozen wilderness feel much more alive.
Woolly Mammoths
Woolly Mammoths are one of the most recognizable animals of the addon. They can be found roaming the snowy landscape in groups.

Sabertooth Tigers
The frozen wilderness is not completely peaceful.
Sabertooth Tigers roam the world as dangerous predators, making encounters with wildlife something you need to take seriously.

Ground Sloths

Ground Sloths are another prehistoric creature found in the world. They add more variety to the wildlife of the Ice Age.
Discover the Frozen Cabin
Exploration can lead you to cabins hidden in the snowy wilderness.
These cabins can provide a welcome shelter from the cold and give you a place to prepare before continuing your journey.

Frostwyrm
For players looking for a real challenge, the addon also introduces Frostwyrm, an ice dragon and one of the major bosses of Prehistoric Ice Age.
This enormous creature fits naturally into the frozen world, but fighting it is anything but easy.

Frostwyrm is meant to be a late-game challenge for players who have prepared their equipment and learned how to survive the harsh environment.
Frostbitten Mobs
The cold has affected more than just the environment.
Some mobs found throughout the frozen world can become Frostbitten, giving them a distinct icy appearance and making them more dangerous to encounter.
Frostbitten mobs have a special effect when they attack. Their attacks can slow the player, making it harder to escape or fight back.

Encountering a Frostbitten mob in the middle of a blizzard can quickly turn a simple fight into a dangerous situation.
Auroras in the Night Sky
The frozen nights are not always dark.
At night, beautiful auroras can appear across the sky, adding another visual feature to the Ice Age world.

The auroras illuminate the frozen landscape and make nighttime exploration feel different from a normal Minecraft world.
Use command '/aurora <color>' to start n aurora event manually
New Building Blocks
The Ice Age also introduces new building materials for players who want to create their own frozen settlements.
Snow Bricks provide a sturdy alternative to ordinary snow blocks, while Ice Bricks allow you to build structures that fit naturally into the frozen environment.

These blocks can be used to create everything from frozen cabins and fortifications to entire Ice Age settlements.
Explore New Biomes
The frozen world is not made up of just one type of snowy landscape.
Prehistoric Ice Age adds four custom biomes, each with its own environment and terrain.
Frozen Mesa
The Frozen Mesa combines the distinctive terrain of a mesa with the harsh conditions of the Ice Age.

Frozen Lowlands
The Frozen Lowlands are vast, open frozen landscapes that provide plenty of room for prehistoric animals to roam.

Glacial Peaks
The Glacial Peaks are towering frozen mountains covered in snow and ice.
These dangerous peaks create a challenging environment to explore and provide dramatic landscapes across the frozen world.

Ice Caves
The Ice Caves take the frozen environment underground.
This custom cave biome is filled with icy terrain, creating a completely different environment to explore beneath the surface.

With three new surface biomes and one cave biome, the frozen world has more variety to discover as you explore.
Survive the Ice Age
Prehistoric Ice Age changes the way you approach survival in Minecraft.
The cold forces you to think about your equipment. Thirst makes water important. Blizzards make exploration more dangerous, while prehistoric animals make the wilderness feel less predictable.
From finding a warm cabin to preparing insulated armor and eventually facing Frostwyrm, there is always another reason to prepare before heading into the frozen wilderness.
