Potions Reimagined improves and expands Minecraft Bedrock’s brewing system in a clean, vanilla-friendly way.
This addon introduces new potions, adds more progression to potions, rebalances existing potions and adds a new Brewing Stand used for large potions without changing how Minecraft fundamentally plays.
Large potions have a bigger impact compared to their smaller version's, but cost more. Large bottles require prismarine shards, giving players more reason to take a dive into the ocean. Infused Bottles require a Heart of the Sea but give you insane potential in return, boosting effect or duration.
Vials are a new kind of potion found in abandoned structures. They are left behind by an older civilisation whom used a lesser brewing technique. Their duration is a lot shorter, but they stack and are quicker to use.
The Reinforced Brewing Stand fits seamlessly into late-game progression and uses familiar brewing ingredients and their recipes, closely matching vanilla brewing behavior.
NEW in 2.4.0:
Added potion drenched snowballs
Added custom particle effects for splash and lingering potions and special variant for infused potions.
I know this isn't the biggest update, but I spend a lot of time tinkering and figuring out the particle system so I hope you guys like the new effects. I also spend a lot of time figuring out how I can best add a new potion with custom effects, but decided to push it back to the next update, hopefully I can find the time to add some cool new things.
Reinforced Brewing Stand
A look at the Reinforced Brewing Stand placed in-game, featuring a vanilla-inspired design that fits naturally alongside existing blocks. To operate the brewingstand:
First add fuel, you can add fuel by clicking on the brewingstand with blaze powder.
Second, insert a large bottle
Third, add the necessary ingredients to make the potion, add them all in quick succesion to use the queue function, or reinsert the potion every time to fully enjoy the visuals!
Fourth, make use of your cool new potions!
(also not unimportant, but sneak-clicking resets the brewingstand, this takes everything out except the fuel)
New potions:
Blindness (Awkward with Ink Sac)
Haste (Awkward with Echo Shard, also available as vial)
Levitation (Awkward with Shulker Shell)
Mining Fatigue (Haste with Fermented Spider Eye)
Nausea (Water Breathing with Fermented Spider Eye)
Experience Bottle Brewing Recipe (Awkward with Infused Residue Dust)
All Potion buffs/nerfs

duration timer caps out at the max duration of the potion
can always be re-entered to get more duration after leaving early
lingering doesn't dissapear earlier with more entities in range like vanilla does

stays on the ground for 1 minute
area of effect is 3 blocks

double the duration of small lingering
slightly shorter throwing distance than small lingering (22 blocks)

duration potions (potions that only take redstone): plus 50% duration
every bottle costs a Heart of the Sea

very short duration
drinkable in half the time compared to the other drinkable potions
only available in positive effects
decreased speed penalty while drinking
found in abandoned structures or traded for with wandering traders.
Potion Drenched Snowblocks and Snowballs
Potion drenched snowblocks are craftable blocks that give a short effect of 5 seconds when standing on them. Their effects go through carpet so use variants like swiftness en leaping drenched snowblocks freely in builds to have a constant effect, trap people with blocks like mining fatigue, weakness and slowness or make your mob spawner more efficient by using poison drenched snowblocks. I made sure to give them vibrant visual capabilities so they dont look off when playing with VV on. At the moment, only normal variants are in the game, so no 2 and plus blocks, let me know if you want to see those added as well. Breaking a potion drneched snowblock drops 4 potion drenched snowballs.

Easier start to brewing
A new chest spawns in the plains village church, storing items nescessary for brewing like: soulsand, netherward and a few select ingredients. It also has a slim chance to have a prismarine shard, so visiting a few churches might help you get that first large bottle.
Crafting: Large Glass Bottle
A Large Glass Bottle can be crafted using:
3 Glass

This bottle is used as the base for brewing Large Potions.
Crafting: Large Infused Glass Bottle
A Large Infused Glass Bottle can be crafted using:

3 Glass
3 Prismarine Shards
This bottle is used as the base for brewing Large Infused Potions.
Crafting: Infused Glass Bottle

These bottles are used as the base for brewing Infused Potions.
Crafting: Reinforced Brewing Stand
The Reinforced Brewing Stand can be crafted using:

Crafting: Potion Drenched Snowblocks
Potion Drenched Snowblocks can be crafted using:
1 Base potion of any kind
4 Snowblocks
Fairly easy to craft with great capabilties.
Crafting: Powerless Shards
Powerless Shards can be crafted using:
1 Powerless Infused Bottle or (5 shards)
1 Large Powerless Infused Bottle (15 shards)
Shards can only be smelted to Infused Residue Dust in a Blast Furnace.
Infused Residue Dust can be used to brew experience bottle in a brewingstand, completing the cycle.
Brewing Process
A short preview of the Reinforced and custom Brewing Stand in use. Brewing time is 10 seconds, making it shorter than vanilla, this is because the player has slightly less feedback while brewing. Fuel can only be added when if there's nothing else in the brewingstand. Taking things out of the brewingstand can be done by sneak-clicking, this takes everything out of the brewingstand except for fuel. I've added a queue function so all ingredients can be thrown in after eachother, but make sure to do it in the right order.
Future Plans
This is my first addon, and I plan to continue updating it. Future versions may include:
I tried making a custom potion which went pretty well, the hardest part is thinking of a new effect that actually adds something to the game, I made a potion of illumination which worked, but I decided to scrap it since it kinda does the samething as a night vision potion. Next update I want to add a actual new potion.
Custom Reinforced Brewing Stand UI (not certain if I'm gonna do this anymore since I kinda like this way of brewing and interacting with it a bit more)
Tipped arrow support (and maybe as an extra lingering mechanic)
An early game brewing mechanic (might scrap in favour of vials)
New potion mob, this mob will be based on a already existing mob but with more potion effects. (hint: it has something to do with the potion snowblocks ;)
Custom blocks to make a dungeon with a new mob and boss, this will be done in multiple update, for the blocks I will be waiting till there is better support for stair blocks without expertimental settings needing to be turned on.
If you have something you'd like to see added in the future, have different feedback or encounter issues, feel free to leave a comment so I can improve future updates.
Known lacking areas/issues
At the moment it's not possible to craft tipped arrows, I will be adding this in the future or replace it with a more fitting mechanic, like automatically shooting tipped arrows when standing in a lingering cloud (or just both).
Minecrafts tiny takeover update is acting weird and might cause unexpected behaviour with this addon.
This addon doesn't disable achievements!
