Overview

Tired of your wolf getting stuck on a cactus, your cat walking off a cliff, or your parrot vanishing somewhere along the way?

Pet Net lets you gather nearby pets into a net and let them out whenever you want. Everything comes back exactly as it was — health, wolf armor, name tags — and you can carry them across dimensions.

How to Use

Action Result
Right-click a mob Capture nearby pets
Sneak + right-click a block Capture nearby pets
Right-click a block Open the release menu

Capturing sweeps everything within a 3 block radius at once, and a single net holds up to 10 pets. alt text

From the release menu you can let out one pet at a time, or release them all at once.

What Can Be Netted

Farm animals Cow · Mooshroom · Sheep · Pig · Chicken · Rabbit · Goat

Pets Wolf · Cat · Ocelot · Parrot · Fox (adults only)

For tamed mobs, you can only net the ones you tamed yourself.

Custom mobs built on top of vanilla mobs (cherry wolves and the like) work too — the net checks whether a mob inherits the original's family, not its name.

What Cannot Be Netted

These are excluded on purpose.

Rideable mobs — Horse · Donkey · Mule · Llama · Camel · Strider · Happy Ghast

Being hard to move is part of how these mobs are designed. Boating them across water or walking them home on a lead is the content, and a net shouldn't erase it. On top of that, netting pack mobs would effectively be portable storage — and an item made from a few pieces of string has no business competing with a Shulker Box.

Villager types — Villager · Wandering Trader · Trader Llama · Zombie Villager

Golems and special mobs — Iron Golem · Snow Golem · Allay · NPC · Agent

Excluded by state

  • Baby foxes — separating a bred kit from its parents with a lead is the heart of fox content
  • Mobs in combat — 10 seconds must pass since their last fight
  • Mobs riding something (a parrot on your shoulder, for example)

When a capture fails, the reason is shown on screen, so you'll know right away why a mob wasn't picked up.

Features

alt text

  • State is preserved — health, taming, name tags, and worn equipment all carry over
  • Cross-dimension — take them to the Overworld, Nether, or End
  • Duplication-proof — a world-level registry prevents pet duplication through copied nets
  • Multilingual — English · Korean · Spanish (Spain / Latin America)

Notes

  • Nets don't stack (max stack size 1), so you'll never lose track of which net holds which pets.
  • Releasing in a cramped space can fail for lack of room. If that happens the pets stay safely in the net — just try again somewhere more open.
