*** # 🍖 PERISH ### *“Food is no longer safe. The rot is advancing.”* **Perish** is an atmospheric survival overhaul for Minecraft Bedrock. Forget infinite food supplies—everything you gather now has a shelf life. From the moment you harvest a crop or slaughter a cow, the clock is ticking. ---

### 💀 THE CORE MECHANICS * **Omen Cycles:** Every food item is stamped with a **"Spoils on Day: X"** date. Watch your inventory carefully, or your hard-earned meals will turn into **Tainted Sludge**. * **Dynamic Decay:** Watch your food progress visually through lore tags: **§aFresh** —> **§eStale** —> **§cWaning**.

* **Visceral Feedback:** Simply holding rotted food is dangerous. Your character will physically gag, your vision will lurch, and the dark whispers in your HUD will warn you of the rot. * **High-Stakes Survival:** Consuming tainted food will leave you with a violent case of food poisoning. ---

### 🧂 THE PRESERVATION UPDATE (v1.1.0) The rot is persistent, but the clever survivor can fight back. * **Smart-Search Salting:** Craft **Preservative Salt** (Sugar + Amethyst). "Eating" the salt will automatically search your hotbar for the first available food item and add **+1 Day** to its life. (No off-hand required!) * **Storage Tiers:** Environment matters. * **Chests** are stuffy and rot food **2x faster**. * **Barrels** are better ventilated and provide a safer storage environment. * **The Refrigeration System:** Engineer a freezer by placing **Ice, Packed Ice, or Snow** inside a container to drastically slow down decay. Use **Blue Ice** to stop time entirely for your supplies. * **Inventory Sync:** No more inventory clutter! Newly gathered food will automatically sync its expiration date with food already in your pockets so they stack correctly. ---

### 📊 FOOD BALANCING * **High Priority (3 Days):** Raw Meats, Cooked Meats, Fish, Stews, Eggs, and Kelp. * **Medium Priority (5 Days):** Vegetables, Bread, and Pies. * **Shelf-Stable (20 Days):** Cookies, Dried Kelp, and Chorus Fruit. * **Magic Foods:** Golden Apples and Honey remain immune to the rot... for now. ---

**Ps. The rot is persistent, but it is not all-knowing. If you are clever enough to engineer a way to bypass the rot, consider yourself a survivor.** ***

### 🛠️ DEVELOPER LOGS & BUG FIXES > **The "Time-Traveler" Patch:** Fixed a critical issue where the rot was so confused by barrels it accidentally reversed the flow of time. Fun fact—the color code for dark gray text is **§8**, and we accidentally left that **‘8’** in our math. Every 2 seconds, your food's life expectancy grew by another digit. Sadly, **"Immortal Time-Traveling Beef"** (Expiration: Day 88,888,883) has been removed. You actually have to survive now. **Credits:** Created by **ScalarLabs**.
