OLLA's Walruses

Big, blubbery and a little bit grumpy. OLLA's Walruses brings herds of walruses to every cold coast in Bedrock, with their own families, leaders, structures and a few secrets.

🐾 The Walrus

• Neutral: they leave you alone until you hit one, then the herd fights back. They calm down again if you die or get far enough away.
• Hits hard: 5.5 hearts on Normal, 6.5 hearts on Hard.
• Three sizes: babies (5 hearts), adults (14 hearts) and big herd leaders (24 hearts) with longer tusks.
• 4 coat colors: brown, dark, scarred and pale. Babies take after their parents.
• Fast swimmers: they never drown and are much faster in water than on land.
• Custom model, sounds and animations: waddling, swimming with their back flippers, tusk strikes, yawning, bellowing, scratching, shaking off water, napping in the sun and huddling together on cold nights.

🐟 Herd Life

• Trust: feed a walrus cod or salmon and the whole herd trusts you. Hit one and that trust is gone.
• Protective parents: get too close to a baby and the adults charge, with the leader first in line.
• Piggyback rides: mothers carry their babies on their backs while swimming.
• Herd leaders: every herd has a big leader. When a herd grows too big, a new leader takes half of it and splits off.
• Rivalry: two leaders that meet will duel until one backs down.
• Natural enemies: walruses and polar bears attack each other, walruses fight drowned, and they hunt fish when in the water.
• Breeding: feed two adults cod or salmon.

🧊 Ice Holes & Fishing

Walruses smash up through ice from below and leave fishing holes behind. Fish in one of these holes and you get a bonus catch, with a small chance of nautilus shells and prismarine.

🏖️ Beached Walruses

Sometimes you hear a sad groan nearby: a walrus has been stranded on land. Lead it back to the water and it thanks you with 95–150 XP and a gift, such as:

• Prismarine, packed and blue ice, or a pile of fish
• Enchanted fishing rods, including a rare fully enchanted one
• Frost Walker or Depth Strider boots, an enchanted turtle helmet or an enchanted book
• A boat called Walrus Express, a sponge or, very rarely, a trident
• A thank-you book written by the walrus itself

🗺️ 7 Structures

Every structure has loot and its own walrus herd. If you come back and the herd is gone, a new one moves in (at most once per in-game day).

🌍 Where to Find Them

Snowy beaches, cold and frozen oceans, frozen rivers and snowy plains. They come in groups of 3–6.
