No Room for Despair is a horror addon inspired by The Parallel by LCrandom, featuring the Despair Culler as the main creature.
The addon introduces a Despair system displayed on your HUD with a face and percentage. Your actions throughout the world can either increase or decrease your despair.
When your despair is low and the face is happy, the world remains mostly normal and the Despair Culler stays away.
As your despair reaches the neutral stage, strange encounters begin. Different appearances of the Despair Culler can stalk you through windows, doors, your bed, tunnels, and distant locations. These encounters are designed to make you feel watched rather than immediately attacked. Some appearances disappear after being noticed, while others slowly move into view or react to the player.
Your despair can increase from things such as taking damage, spending too much time in darkness, staying awake through the night, missing sleep, or remaining at low health. Activities such as sleeping, eating, swimming, and spending time outside during the day can help reduce it.
Once you reach the sad/despair state, there is no turning back during that life. The Despair Culler becomes hostile and begins actively hunting you. It can chase the player, interact with doors, and attempt to break through them while custom sound effects build tension.
If the Despair Culler manages to reach you, a custom death sequence and jumpscare plays before the player dies.
Dying resets your despair back to 0%, giving you a fresh start.
The addon also includes custom sounds, stalking events, animated creature movement, screen sequences, and multiple Despair Culler appearances designed to make encounters unpredictable.
