Description

Naked and Afraid: Bedrock Edition

Naked&AfraidLogo

Naked and Afraid: Bedrock Edition is a Minecraft Bedrock survival challenge Add-On created by FransLDLIVE, inspired by the Minecraft YouTube series of the same name.

The challenge is simple: survive with almost no protection, limited communication, and only one life.

Players must survive without armor, without natural health regeneration, and with the constant risk of elimination.

Core Rules

One Life

Every regular player has only one life.

When a player dies, they are eliminated from the challenge.

Everyone will receive an anonymous announcement:

A PLAYER HAS DIED AND HAS BEEN ELIMINATED.

The identity of the eliminated player is not revealed.

No Armor

Armor is completely FORBIDDEN.

If a player equips any piece of armor, they will receive Poison until all armor is removed.

Players must rely on careful movement, healing items, resources, and teamwork instead of armor for protection.

No Natural Health Regeneration

Natural health regeneration is automatically DISABLED.

Having a full hunger bar will not naturally restore lost health, making every source of damage more dangerous.

Hidden Player Nametags

Player nametags are automatically HIDDEN.

This makes it harder to identify players from a distance and adds more uncertainty when encountering other survivors.

Limited Communication

Communication is intended to be limited during the challenge.

For the intended experience, it is recommended to enable Minecraft Education Features and use:

/ability @a mute true

This disables normal player chat and encourages players to find each other in the world if they want to communicate or cooperate.

Elimination System

EliminationMode

When a regular player dies, the Add-On records their elimination and cause of death.

Administrators can choose how eliminated players are handled using one of two modes:

Reviving Mode

Eliminated players remain in the world as restricted spectators and cannot continue playing normally.

Administrators can revive them if necessary.

This mode is recommended for testing or worlds where administrators want more control over eliminated players.

Ban Mode

Eliminated players are removed using Minecraft's kick system.

Warning: Depending on how the world is hosted, Minecraft may prevent eliminated players from reconnecting.

Ban Mode should be used carefully.

Elimination Feedback

EliminationNotif

When a player is eliminated, the Add-On displays:

ELIMINATED

You have been eliminated. Better luck next time.

A custom elimination sound can also be played.

Players can individually adjust the elimination sound volume from 0% to 200%.

Administrators can control:

  • Elimination Announcement — Enables or disables the anonymous elimination message.
  • Elimination Sound — Enables or disables the elimination sound for everyone.

Admin Control Panel

The Add-On includes a built-in administration interface for managing the challenge.

AdminPanel

Use:

/hardcore:admin

Only authorized administrators can access the Admin Panel.

Administrators can:

  • View eliminated players
  • View causes of death
  • Manually eliminate players
  • Revive individual players
  • Revive all eliminated players
  • Change the elimination mode
  • Control elimination announcements
  • Control the elimination sound
  • Change their game mode
  • Test the elimination effect
  • Add or remove challenge admins
  • View challenge information

World operators automatically have admin access.

Added Naked and Afraid admins are protected from permanent elimination. If an admin dies, they receive the normal elimination feedback but are placed into Spectator Mode instead.

Player Information

Players can use:

/hardcore:info

This opens the challenge information menu where players can access:

  • Challenge rules and information
  • Personal sound settings
  • Interface settings
  • Credits

Interface

Each player can choose which interface they prefer.

Their preference is saved individually, meaning different players in the same world can use different interfaces.

The available interface options are:

Normal Minecraft UI

Uses Minecraft Bedrock's traditional form interface.

This is intended for players who prefer the familiar Minecraft menu style.

OreUI - Experimental

Uses Minecraft's newer Data-Driven UI system to provide a more modern interface with:

  • Headers
  • Dividers
  • Improved spacing
  • Dropdowns
  • Sliders
  • Toggle controls
  • Status information
  • More organized menus

OreUI Interface - Experimental

Because OreUI uses newer UI features, it is currently considered EXPERIMENTAL and may be affected by future Minecraft updates.

Players can switch between the two interfaces at any time.

Automatically Managed Settings

The Add-On automatically manages several settings required for the challenge:

Natural Health Regeneration: Disabled

Coordinates: Enabled

Player Locator / Waypoints: Disabled

Friendly Fire / PvP: Disabled

Player Nametags: Hidden

These settings are automatically applied to help keep the challenge consistent.

Designed for Multiplayer

Naked and Afraid: Bedrock Edition is primarily designed for multiplayer survival challenges.

It can be used for:

  • Friends
  • SMPs
  • Content creators
  • YouTube series
  • Community events
  • Private survival worlds

There is no required scoring system or forced competition.

Players can cooperate, form groups, explore separately, share resources, or attempt to survive alone.

The main goal is simple:

Survive for as long as possible.

Commands

Player

/hardcore:info

Opens the challenge information menu.

Administrator

/hardcore:admin

Opens the Admin Control Panel.

Only authorized administrators can use this command.

Recommended Setup

For the intended Naked and Afraid experience, enable Minecraft Education Features and use:

/ability @a mute true

This disables normal player chat and helps keep communication limited throughout the challenge.

Current Status

BETA

Naked and Afraid: Bedrock Edition is currently in BETA.

The Add-On is still being tested and improved, so features may change during development.

Future updates may include:

  • Bug fixes
  • UI improvements
  • Better device compatibility
  • Gameplay adjustments
  • Admin improvements
  • Elimination system improvements
