Mythical Dragons — Complete Add-on Description

Overview

Mythical Dragons is a Minecraft Bedrock add-on that introduces six tamable dragons: Fire, Ice, Lightning, Shadow, Nature, and Crystal. Each dragon has a unique 3D model, detailed pixel-art textures, custom animations, sounds, particles, and special abilities.

Find dragons throughout the world, tame them, raise them, and eventually ride them through the skies. The add-on includes two packs: a Behavior Pack, which handles gameplay mechanics, scripts, and crafting recipes, and a Resource Pack, which provides the visuals and sounds. Both packs must be enabled in your world.

Growth Stages

Stage| Size| Health| Damage

Hatchling| 0.5x| 25%| 40%

Juvenile| 1.0x| 60%| 70%

Adult| 1.8x–3.0x| 100%| 100%–148%

Hatchlings can only use basic attacks and cannot be ridden. Juveniles unlock their special abilities, while adults can be ridden and flown.

Natural growth takes approximately 7 minutes to reach the juvenile stage and another 12 minutes to become an adult.

Dragon Treats can instantly advance hatchlings and juveniles to the next stage. Adult dragons gain one size level per treat, reaching a maximum size of 3.0x across 13 levels. Each level increases damage by 4%. Every treat also restores 20 health, and only the owner can feed their dragon. Dragons announce when they reach maximum size.

- Special ability: Grants resistance and absorption to nearby allies within 9 blocks. Cooldown: 27.5 seconds.

- Passive abilities: High natural resistance, emits light in dark areas, and detects ores within 8 blocks. Particles and the action bar indicate the direction, but not the exact block.

Taming and Companionship

Wild dragons can be tamed by feeding them their preferred food. Each item has a 30% chance of success.

- Fire: Cooked salmon or cooked meat.

- Ice: Raw cod.

- Lightning: Redstone or a golden apple.

- Shadow: Fermented spider eye.

- Nature: Apple, wheat, or carrot.

- Crystal: Emerald or diamond.

Dragon Treats work for every species.

Once tamed, a dragon follows its owner, protects them from monsters, and attacks enemies that hurt its owner or are attacked by its owner. Dragons can sit or stand using Shift + Interact. When not being ridden, they can automatically use their attacks.

Dragon Command Staff

The Command Staff lets you control your tamed dragons within a 64-block radius.

- Follow: Dragons follow you and protect you from monsters within 14 blocks.

- Stay: Commands all affected dragons to sit.

- Attack Marked Target: Orders dragons to prioritize a marked monster within 24 blocks.

Hit a mob with the staff to mark it for 30 seconds. Your dragons will prioritize that target.

Dragons never intentionally damage their owner, other players, tamed dragons, pets, or villagers.

Dragon attacks are calculated through scripts using instant-hit mechanics and particles rather than physical projectiles.

Riding and Flying

Only tamed adult dragons can be ridden. Interact with the dragon using an empty hand without sneaking.

The camera remains free, and the dragon turns toward the direction you're looking.

- W: Move forward.

- S: Move backward slowly.

- A / D: Move sideways.

- Space: Ascend.

- Sprint: Increase speed by approximately 60%.

When no movement input is detected, the dragon slows down and hovers. To descend, look downward and move forward.

Each species has its own flight speed. Lightning dragons are the fastest, while larger dragons fly slightly faster. Dragons do not take fall damage.

While riding, use the Command Staff to launch the basic attack in the direction you're looking. Use the Power Orb to unleash the dragon's special ability.

If Minecraft cannot provide keyboard input to the script, the dragon uses a simplified flight system: it glides slowly forward, and Space stops its forward movement. Estimated flight time and speed in blocks per second appear on the action bar.

Items and Crafting

All custom items can be crafted at a crafting table, except dragon scales, which are obtained from juvenile and adult dragons. The Command Staff and Power Orb appear in the equipment category.

Dragon Eggs

Each species has its own egg.

Recipe: Four species-themed ingredients, four gold ingots, and one diamond.

Right-click or interact with an egg to hatch a dragon. The result is a hatchling that is already tamed.

Species ingredients:

- Fire: Blaze Powder.

- Ice: Packed Ice.

- Lightning: Lightning Rod.

- Shadow: Echo Shard.

- Nature: Moss Block.

- Crystal: Amethyst Shard.

Command Staff

Recipe: Two Blaze Rods and one Amethyst Shard arranged diagonally.

Used to command dragons and mark targets.

Power Orb

Recipe: One Ender Pearl, four Amethyst Shards, and four Gold Ingots.

Used to unleash a dragon's special ability while riding.

Dragon Treat

Recipe: Wheat, cooked meat, sugar, and a gold nugget.

Produces four treats. Used to advance growth stages, increase adult size, and restore 20 health.

Dragon Scales

Each species has its own scale, which drops from juvenile and adult dragons. Scales have no crafting recipe.

Consume a scale to gain a temporary species-specific power. The effect has a 30-second cooldown. Feeding a scale to a dragon of the same species also heals it.

- Fire: Fire Resistance and Strength.

- Ice: Resistance and Water Breathing.

- Lightning: Speed and increased mining speed.

- Shadow: Night Vision and brief Invisibility.

- Nature: Regeneration and Saturation.

- Crystal: Resistance and Absorption.

Wild dragons also have a 5% chance to drop an egg when defeated.

Wild Dragons and Natural Spawning

Fire and Lightning dragons become hostile toward players when they reach the juvenile or adult stage. Ice, Shadow, Nature, and Crystal dragons are neutral and only retaliate when attacked. Hatchlings are never hostile.

Wild dragons have the following spawn-stage probabilities:

- Adult: 50%.

- Juvenile: 28%.

- Hatchling: 22%.

Natural Habitats

- Fire: Deserts, badlands, and savannas.

- Ice: Frozen biomes.

- Lightning: Mountains, plains, and savannas.

- Nature: Jungles and forests.

- Shadow: Dark caves.

- Crystal: Dark caves.

The add-on uses two spawning systems: Minecraft's natural spawn rules and a script that checks every 30 seconds for a 40% chance to spawn a dragon 36–76 blocks away from each player in the Overworld. A maximum of four dragons can spawn within a 128-block radius.

Dragon spawn eggs are also available in Creative Mode. You can summon a Fire Dragon using "/summon dm:fire_dragon".

Installation

1. Open "DragoesMiticos.mcaddon" to import both packs.

2. If you're upgrading from an older version, remove the previous packs under Settings → Storage.

3. Create or edit a world and activate both the Mythical Dragons Behavior Pack and Resource Pack.

The add-on does not require experimental features or Beta APIs. It uses the stable "@minecraft/server" 2.7.0 API.

Testing and Known Limitations

The following have been checked through scripts: file structure, JSON syntax, references between files, texture and UV definitions, crafting recipes for all craftable items except scales, and script syntax.

However, the add-on has not yet been opened and tested inside Minecraft. The following remain unverified:

- Compatibility of the selected format versions with the game.

- Animation behavior, including wing rotation.

- Flight controls and keyboard input detection.

- Shadow camouflage.

- Natural spawning rules.

- The final visual quality of models and sounds.

Important Design Limitations

- Dragons only fly while being ridden. When following their owner, they travel on the ground.

- Attacks use instant-hit calculations rather than physical projectiles.

- To command dragons to attack a selected target, you must mark it with the Command Staff.

- Lightning strikes are simulated through scripted damage and effects to prevent the dragon's owner from being harmed.

Mythical Dragons is designed to make exploration, combat, and companionship more exciting by giving every dragon its own personality, abilities, growth system, and role in the world.
