What the heck is Minecig?

MineCig adds 36 craftable cigarette variants + the Cigarette Lighter to your Bedrock world. Each variant has unique status effects, self-damage values, and flammability tiers — modeled loosely after real-world brand vibes ranging from "barely a kick" Whites all the way up to "lung-busting" Blacks and Unfiltereds.

Every cigarette is held at your character's lips, in 3D, in both first and third person. They smoke when lit. They flick like flaming arrows when you tap right-click. Lets you inhale buffs like a poor man's potion. And yes, you can light another player's cigarette by walking up and right-clicking them with your Lighter, because some things matter.

Features

36 craftable variants in two lines

Tier line (10 base + 100s = 20):

Whites — The standard. Smooth, mild, forgettable.
Silvers — A whisper of speed.
Golds — Imported. Overpriced. Worth it?
Blues — A blue-collar staple.
Greens — Earthy. Possibly herbal.
Reds — Strong. Confident. Smells like victory.
Blacks — Black tar. Avoid before mining.
Crimsons — Nether-touched. Burns hot.
Purples — You'll vanish. Probably.
Bronzes — Cheap and harsh. Makes you angry.

Specialty line (8 base + 100s = 16):

Menthols — Cold and fast.
Lights — All flavor, no kick.
Unfiltereds — Don't ask what's in them. (4 HP self-damage at full charge — these will literally kill you.)
Lucky Strikes — Today's your day.
Phantoms — You're not even here.
Blazes — Lit from the Nether. Stays lit.
Creepers — Hold steady. They explode if you don't.
Endermans — Don't look directly at them while smoking.

Each variant comes in regular (20 cigs per pack) and 100s (40 cigs per pack, visibly longer in your mouth).

The Cigarette Lighter

The premium ignition tool. 128 durability (2× a Flint and Steel), enchantable (Unbreaking, Mending), and capable of igniting blocks like F&S OR lighting another player's cigarette if they have one equipped. The social-light interaction works at up to 3 blocks range, plays the flick + ignite sounds for both players, and even spawns a tiny flame particle at the target's face for ultimate aura farming.

Smoking mechanics

Tap right-click → flick the current cigarette as a projectile. If it's lit, it's basically a flaming arrow — 1 damage, 25% chance to set the target on fire for 2 seconds, 5% chance to ignite flammable terrain (logs, planks, leaves, wool, etc.) on landing.
Hold right-click → smoke for up to 3 seconds. Charge builds; FOV pulls back; smoke gets denser. Release to apply status effects scaled by charge percent (minimum 20% duration so any release does something), plus self-damage scaled by the variant's value × charge.
At ≥75% charge with a tier-II-capable variant → effect amplifier bumps up one tier.
Chain smoking → release a second lit cig within 10 seconds of the first → +1 amplifier to all effects. Stack up to +3 for the most degenerate of degens.
At ≥95% charge → smoke ring easter egg. 12 perfectly arranged smoke particles burst from the tip. Earned the hard way.

Eight ways to extinguish

Sneak + right-click on water, flowing water, sand, red sand, gravel, soul sand: your cig goes out. Plus auto-extinguish if you're standing in water OR caught outside in the rain (sky-exposure detection included).

Three ways to light up

Sneak + right-click a torch / campfire / lava / fire block / lit furnace — free, no tool needed.
Sneak + right-click in open air with a Lighter or Flint and Steel anywhere in your inventory — works even if the tool isn't in your selected slot. Lighter consumes first, F&S as fallback. Silent click if neither.
Get lit by a friend — they walk up with their Lighter, right-click your character. Their durability, your problem.

Wear two cigarettes at once

Drop a cigarette pack into your shield slot. A second, always-lit decorative cigarette appears on the opposite corner of your mouth, mirrored, smoking ambiently. No interactivity just vibes. Have one in each hand for full cool-guy energy.

Built-in achievement system

Action-bar popups + level-up chime for hitting milestones:

First Drag — your inaugural lit-smoke release
Pack Rat — emptied a full pack
Chain Smoker — hit the +3 chain bonus
Pass It Around — lit another player's cigarette
Crafted: <Variant> × 18 — one for each base variant

Achievements persist across world reloads (stored as a player dynamic property), so your stats carry between sessions.

Polish you didn't ask for but I built anyway

Cigarette butt entities appear at the impact site of every flicked cigarette and linger for 60 seconds. Litter responsibly.
Lore tooltips on every variant — flavor text in gray, effects in dark gray, self-damage warning in red, set lazily within ~1s of holding.
4 paper drops when a pack hits 0 durability. Recycle the empty box.
Hand-painted icons for all 36 variants + the Lighter — no algorithmic tinting, just art.
3D body model with separate lit (orange tip) and unlit (black tip) textures, plus a longer geometry for 100s variants.
Smoke particle stacking — denser cloud during active inhale, wisps during idle, a clean perfect-circle ring at max charge.

Technical bits

Stable Script API (@minecraft/server 1.14.0) — no Beta APIs experiment required.
No Holiday Creator Features needed either.
All 37 recipes are AlwaysUnlocked and visible in the recipe book from world start.
Custom MineCig subgroup in creative Items tab — everything in one spot.
Lit and offhand variants are hidden from creative; the script auto-swaps items between forms behind the scenes so you never see the plumbing.
