Introduction
Minecraft Bedrock Edition 1.21+
Manhunt Tracker is a powerful, real-time tracking addon for Minecraft Bedrock, designed for Manhunt, PvP, and competitive survival gameplay. Track any player using a simple command and get a live action-bar display with a relative compass, distance, and coordinates — all while staying balanced and dimension-aware.
Features
Relative Compass Arrow (Action Bar)
- Arrow points relative to your facing direction:
-
Live Data Display
- Distance shown in meters (blocks), updates every 0.5 seconds for smooth, flicker-free tracking.
- Coordinates show the target’s X and Z position.
- Y-level is hidden for balanced gameplay you must figure out if they’re underground or on a mountain.
Dimension Awareness
- If the target changes dimension, the tracker shows a clear message, for example:
Target moved to THE NETHER. Last seen here: X: 100 Z: -50
- If you enter a dimension the target has never visited, the tracker tells you where they are:
Target is in THE OVERWORLD. Go there!
Offline / Crash Handling
- If the target leaves the server or crashes, the tracker switches to [OFFLINE] mode.
It keeps the last known location and dimension until the player reconnects.
Flexible Commands
- Commands are case-insensitive (
track dream = track DREAM)
- No slash required

Why Not Use a Compass?
Many Manhunt addons rely on a compass-based tracking system. While that works well on Java Edition, it is not reliable or clean on Minecraft Bedrock and causes several gameplay and technical issues.
On Bedrock Edition, compass tracking often works by constantly resetting the world spawn point to the runner’s position. This leads to multiple problems:
- Breaks normal spawn mechanics (players may respawn at the runner’s location instead of their bed or world spawn)
- Causes weird behavior when players die, rejoin, or change dimensions
- Can interfere with beds, respawn anchors, and other spawn logic
- Creates bugs in multiplayer worlds and servers
- Feels hacky and unreliable for a competitive Manhunt experience
Because of these limitations, a compass-based system on Bedrock is not a proper or stable solution.
Action Bar Tracking
Manhunt Tracker uses a custom action-bar tracking system instead of a compass:
- No spawn point abuse or world spawn manipulation
- Works cleanly across dimensions
- No bugs with respawning, beds, or servers
- More stable and predictable behavior
- Saves inventory space, no compass slot wasted
- Instant, always-visible UI in the action bar
