Adds pigeons that can send items to players. Part of Billey's Mobs now available as a standalone add-on.
Unlike Billey's Mobs, this add-on doesn't require the Beta APIs experimental toggle. However you should enable it anyway as it might be needed for other add-ons, and there's no downside to having it turned on.
Pigeons
Viewing This Info In-Game
- You can view this information in-game by using a book or a feather on a pigeon.
General
- Pigeons spawn in plains and are especially common in flower forests and birch forests.
- They can be tamed with any kind of seeds, carrots, or bread.
Pooping
- Pigeons poop randomly.
- Their poop can be used to:
- Craft bone meal.
- Boost pollinating mobs from the Billey's Mobs add-on (e.g., pill bugs and stick bugs).
- Their poop shouldn't be an issue since it turns into its item form and then despawns quickly
Finding Apples
- Tamed pigeons will find apples in trees if they are not made to sit.
Sending Items to Players
- Pigeons can deliver items to other players. Here's how:
- Craft a pigeon backpack:
- Recipe: 2 string, 1 wool, and 2 leather.
- Equip the backpack:
- Using the backpack:
- Pet the pigeon (sneak + long tap, right-click, or use the pet button) while holding an item to store it in the backpack.
- If the pigeon’s backpack is full, petting it while holding an item will make it drop its contents.
- Pet it with an empty hand to select the player to send the pigeon to. (Players must be in the same dimension and not right next to you.)
- Customization:
- The pigeon backpack can be dyed by applying a dye to the pigeon wearing it.
Wandering
- Use a stick on a pigeon to make it wander around instead of following you.
Get More Useful Pets
Get the Billey's Mobs Add-on for free on MCPEDL or CurseForge for:
- More useful pets like this one.
- The ability to untame (give away) pigeons, put hats on them, and place them on your shoulder
If you download Billey's Mobs make sure to remove this add-on since they add the exact same pigeon mob and issues may occur.
Future Plans
- Sending a pigeon will consume a small amount of experience, as the current mechanics are somewhat overpowered(this will be in BIlley's Mobs too).
