About the Keris

The keris (kris) is a distinctive asymmetrical dagger with deep cultural roots in Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as across Southeast Asia. Dating back at least to the 10th century, it is more than a weapon—it represents craftsmanship, identity, tradition, ceremony, and heritage. The Indonesian Kris was recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2008.

About This Minecraft Add-On

The Keris Add-On brings this iconic Southeast Asian heritage into Minecraft with a fantasy-friendly design inspired by the real keris. It features custom 3D models, textures, animations, material variants, and crafting recipes.

Keris deals less damage and has lower durability compared to swords but it has faster swing and lower cooldown which can help player in certain situations. Keris is also craftable with 1 stick + 1 of these (plank, cobblestone, iron, gold, diamond, copper) which is cheaper than vanilla sword. Player also can craft it without crafting table.

The goal is to celebrate the keris's rich cultural identity while giving Minecraft players a unique weapon for Indonesian, Malaysian, and Southeast Asian-inspired worlds, historical builds, fantasy adventures, or everyday survival.
