Description

Item Editor, customize items your way

Item Editor is an Add-On that lets you change items or blocks that already exist in your world. You can rename items, update their lore, adjust enchantments, set durability, write books, edit sign blocks, etc, have custom actions on your item such as On hit, Kill, Mine, Break and many more. Everything happens in game, through menus or commands.

Requires Bedrock 1.26.40 or newer. No experimental toggles needed and since this is an Add-On, it means you are free to pair it with any other Add-Ons without worrying about breaking.

Installing

  1. Download the .mcpack below and import it in Minecraft.
  2. Apply the behavior pack to your world.
  3. Activate cheats.

The editor

Run /jstash:editor, here you can pick what to work on (your inventory, another player, or whatever you're looking at), then pick an item.

The start menu, item menu and properties form

  • Rename items, edit lore line by line, set durability and stack size
  • Add, change or strip enchantments, including maxing out everything an item can take
  • Write books: pages, title and author
  • Edit sign text, color and wax, including unwaxing
  • Change block states without disturbing the rest of the block, so chests keep their items for example
  • Edit a whole set of gear at once: armor, hotbar, or everything you carry
  • Copy one item's setup onto another
  • Turn any item into a wand that opens the editor on whatever you point it at

Abilities

New in 3.0. Items can now do things by themselves, for example a sword that calls Lightning bolt on entities upon hit, boots that give night vision when held, a pickaxe that mines the whole ore vein at once and many more.

Every ability has a trigger (on hit, kill, shoot, hurt, use, held, worn, mine or break) and allows up to 8 steps behind it, with optional chance, cooldown, conditions and costs. There are 18 templates to start from if you don't want to build one from scratch. Jump straight to them with:

/jstash:editor @s mainhand abilities

Unfortunately we cannot really save dynamic properties on stackable items which is what required for abilities so I have a workaround for that, which just utilizes Lore of items, however this setting is off by default, but you can turn them on under Abilities in /jstash:settings. The abilities guide covers everything.

Commands

Pick something once with /jstash:select, then edit it as many times as you like:

/jstash:select @s head
/jstash:set name "Nice Helmet"
/jstash:ench protection 4
/jstash:set unbreakable true

Swap the slot for a group like equipment for example, and every command after it covers the whole set:

Chat output from enchanting a whole set of gear at once

There's also /jstash:grant to build an item in one line, /jstash:kit to save and hand out inventories, and /jstash:block for block states. If you'd rather not write a /jstash:grant line by hand, I have built a website called item builder for this.

Settings

/jstash:settings controls chat messages, sounds, translated item names, and many more. Check the full list here.
