Ever wished your Iron Golems could do more than just defend villages? Now they can!

Iron Golem Trade OP Items transforms naturally spawned Iron Golems into powerful merchants that trade incredibly valuable items. No more grinding for hours - just find a naturally spawned Iron Golem and trade!

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Natural Spawning Only

Iron Golems that are player-built (using iron blocks and a pumpkin) CANNOT trade!

You must use naturally spawned Iron Golems found in villages or spawned by the game itself.

Why? This maintains game balance and encourages exploration to find villages.

Find a naturally spawned Iron Golem (must spawn in a village naturally)
Right-click / tap on the Iron Golem
Trade poppies for emeralds
Trade emeralds for OP items!

📦 Installation

Step	Action
1	Download the `.mcaddon` file
2	Open the file - Minecraft will import it automatically
3	Go to your world Settings → Add-Ons
4	Apply both Behavior Pack and Resource Pack
5	Enable Experimental Gameplay if prompted
6	Start your world and find a village with a naturally spawned Iron Golem

🎮 How to Get a Natural Iron Golem

Method 1: Find a Village (Recommended)

Explore your world to find a village. Every village naturally spawns at least one Iron Golem.

Method 2: Let Villagers Spawn One

If a village has at least 10 villagers and 21 beds, they will naturally spawn an Iron Golem over time.

Method 3: Wait for Raids

During pillager raids, villages may spawn additional Iron Golems for defense.

❌ Method 4: Building One (DOES NOT WORK)

Building an Iron Golem with iron blocks and a pumpkin will create a golem, but it will NOT have trading abilities.

🔧 Technical Explanation

This addon modifies the Iron Golem behavior file to add trading only to golems created with the "minecraft:from_village" event tag. Player-built golems use the "minecraft:from_player" event tag and do not receive the trading component group.

❓ FAQ

Q: Why won't my built Iron Golem trade?
A: By design, only naturally spawned village golems can trade. This maintains game balance and encourages exploration.

Q: Can I modify the addon to allow player-built golems to trade?
A: Yes! Edit entities/iron_golem.json and add "wiki:trader" to the "minecraft:from_player" event in the "events" section.

Q: Will this break my existing Iron Golems?
A: Naturally spawned golems will work. Player-built golems created before installing the addon will NOT trade.

Q: Does the Iron Golem still attack monsters?
A: Yes! Trading is added on top of all original behaviors. Your golem will still defend you.

Q: Can I use this on a Realm?
A: Yes! Just apply the addon to your Realm the same way you would for a normal world.

Q: Why poppies?
A: Iron Golems naturally hold poppies to give to villagers. It fits their theme perfectly!

Q: Can I change the trades?
A: Yes! Edit the trading/iron_golem_trades.json file in the behavior pack.
