Infection: Sporefall
The spores fell. Humanity followed.
Infection: Sporefall is a Minecraft Bedrock survival-horror addon that transforms your world into an evolving fungal apocalypse. A strange crimson infection spreads across the land, mutating creatures, corrupting terrain, changing the atmosphere, and eventually turning ordinary weather into a deadly Sporefall event.
This is not an infection that stays in one place. Once it begins, it can grow, spread, mutate, and consume entire areas of your world.
☣️ THE SPOREFALL
Red mist clouds move across the world and release infectious spores from the sky. Any exposed area beneath the outbreak can become contaminated.
Natural rain and thunderstorms can also become infectious Sporefall rain, allowing the infection to spread across entirely new locations.
Once spores reach the ground, the world begins changing.
Grass, dirt, stone, sand, trees, leaves, and other terrain can become corrupted into disturbing red infected variants. Carnivorous mutation plants begin growing from contaminated surfaces while infected vines spread through the environment in long Nether-style chains.
The longer an area remains infected, the more hostile it becomes.
🧟 MUTATING CREATURES
Sporefall doesn’t just consume the environment.
Living creatures that come into contact with:
- infected terrain
- mutation plants
- infected vines
- falling spores
- infected rain
- contagious infected hosts
can become infected themselves.
Once infected, the organism begins taking root inside its host.
Players receive a visible countdown showing how long remains before the infection takes root.
If you cure the infection early, only one Cure Vial is needed.
If the timer reaches zero, the infection becomes rooted. The host becomes contagious and begins spreading the infection to nearby creatures.
At that point, two Cure Vials are required.
Infected mobs that are not treated before the infection takes root will eventually morph into mutant versions of themselves.
🧬 SPORE DNA
Breaking infected terrain or mutation growth can drop Spore DNA, one of the most important resources in the addon.
Spore DNA is used to:
research the infection, manufacture cures, unlock specialized treatments, build your laboratory, and eventually develop humanity's greatest weapon against the Sporefall.
But destroying infection isn't always safe.
Mining an infected block releases a violent spore burst, spreading particles outward and infecting nearby terrain.
Killing an infected creature can cause the same reaction.
Sometimes destroying the infection only helps it spread.
🧪 BUILD YOUR OWN LABORATORY
After becoming infected for the first time, you'll unlock the Sporefall research progression and gain access to the Portable Infection Laboratory recipe.
Craft and deploy your own protected research facility containing:
Spore Research Computer
Chemistry Table
Research Storage
Protected laboratory interior
Your laboratory is protected from Sporefall contamination, giving you a safe location to study the organism.
🔬 RESEARCH THE INFECTION
Collect Spore DNA and deposit it into the Chemistry Table to begin researching different infection strains.
Research specialized cures for different mutant families and contaminated terrain.
Chemical analysis alone isn't enough.
Research must then be taken to the Spore Research Computer, where the infection's genetic sequence is analyzed and its strain DNA code identified.
Only after the computer successfully finalizes the research can advanced cures be synthesized.
Different discoveries allow you to combat different types of infection.
💉 RADIUS CURES
Advanced research unlocks treatments capable of cleansing entire areas rather than individual hosts.
Specialized cure technology can remove infection from groups of creatures or cleanse corrupted terrain in a radius around the player.
This allows survivors to slowly reclaim infected territory instead of breaking contaminated blocks one at a time.
🧬 THE PERMANENT CURE
Processing 1,000 Spore DNA unlocks the final stage of infection research.
The Permanent Cure.
The Chemistry Table begins the research, but the Research Computer must identify and finalize the organism's final genetic sequence before the cure can be produced.
Permanent Cure technology can be used on both living creatures and the environment.
A permanently cured creature becomes immune to future Sporefall infection.
Permanently cured terrain becomes protected against reinfection, allowing survivors to create truly safe territory inside a world being consumed by the outbreak.
🌫️ INFECTED ATMOSPHERE
Travel deep enough into contaminated territory and the environment itself changes.
The fog transitions between crimson red, blood-red and black, and near-total darkness, while airborne spores and red mist surround infected regions.
Large outbreaks develop massive Sporefall cloud systems above them, making infected territory recognizable long before you reach the ground.
🌱 A LIVING INFECTION
Sporefall continues spreading even without the player directly interacting with it.
Infection zones expand.
Clouds multiply.
Vines grow.
Mutation plants appear.
Hosts become contagious.
Weather spreads the organism.
Dead mutants contaminate the land around them.
Even dropped natural debris inside heavily infected regions will eventually be consumed by the infection.
The result is an outbreak that feels less like a collection of custom mobs and more like a living ecosystem actively taking over your Minecraft world.
Infection: Sporefall
The spores fell. Humanity followed.
Can you stop the infection before there is nothing left to save?
