A complete Minecraft Bedrock addon that introduces a farmable magical herb, unique custom traders, craftable potions with special effects, and a scripted growth and economy system — designed for Bedrock 1.21.90+.

🌿 Overview HerbCraft brings a new, fully-integrated farming and economy system into Minecraft. New trader mobs spawn across the world, offering a way to start your farm with this mystical plant. The herb grows through multiple visual stages, and players can harvest it, process it, and craft it into unique consumables with magical properties. The addon combines custom entity behaviors, scripted block mechanics, and a complete trade loop to deliver a vanilla-friendly experience.

✨ Core Features Natural Mob Spawning: Three new custom mobs — the Herb User (2 variants) and the Herb Wandering Trader — spawn naturally in specific biomes.

Complete Farming Cycle: Grow a custom Herb Bush from an Herb Zip Seed, watch it mature through multiple stages, and harvest it with shears.

Craftable Magical Items: Process your harvest to craft a Baga or brew a Mystic Potion, each providing unique status effects from their latent magic.

Scripted Growth & Effects System: Robust JavaScript handlers manage the plant's random tick growth and apply status effects to players when items are consumed.

Full Economy Loop: The new mobs act as traders, allowing you to sell your crafted goods for emeralds or buy seeds to expand your operation.

Villager-like AI: Traders follow a day-night cycle, seeking shelter and sleeping at night, making them feel like a natural part of the world.

Immersive Particle Effects: Consuming a Baga generates a unique particle effect, enhancing the magical experience.

Two-Block Plant Structure: The Herb Bush grows to be two blocks tall, with linked logic ensuring both parts are managed correctly when harvested or broken.

🧍 The Herb Traders To create a self-contained economy, this addon introduces three new trader mobs. These custom NPCs bring the world to life, providing a way for players to get started and a market to sell their final products.

Behavior & Spawning:

Herb Users (2 variants) spawn naturally and rarely in Plains biomes.

The Herb Wandering Trader spawns in Jungle and Bamboo biomes.

They all share advanced, villager-like AI, including wandering, opening doors, avoiding hazards, and sleeping in a bed at night.

Trading: Each trader has a custom trade table. They will buy your harvested Herb, crafted Bagas, and brewed Mystic Potions in exchange for emeralds. They are also the primary source for acquiring Herb Zip Seeds.

Crafting & Processing

Furnace Recipe: 1 × Herb → 1 × Herb Bud.
Shaped Recipe (Baga): paper + Herb Bud + flint_and_steel → Baga.
Brewing Recipe (Mystic Potion): Water Bottle + Herb Bud → Mystic Potion.

🌍 Spawning & Biomes Herb Users: Spawn rarely in Plains biomes, controlled by custom spawn_rules to ensure they are a special encounter.

Herb Wandering Trader: Spawns in Jungle and Bamboo biomes.

Spawn Logic: All mobs spawn on the surface, alone (max_size: 1), and with a density limit to prevent overpopulation in a single area.

⚙️ Growth & Harvesting Mechanics Random-Tick Growth: A custom JavaScript component (weedcraft:growth_handler) increments the plant's weedcraft:growth_stage state on random ticks until it reaches the final stage.

Harvesting: Use shears on a fully grown, two-block-tall Herb Bush to receive Herb. The plant will revert to its initial growth stage. Breaking the plant will destroy it without any drops.

Status Effects:

Consuming a Baga applies Hunger, Regeneration, and Nausea as its magic takes hold.

Drinking a Mystic Potion applies the same effects but with a significantly longer duration.

Cooldowns & Stability: The harvesting script includes protections to prevent duplicate drops from a single interaction.

🔧 Technical Implementation Custom Entities: The three trader mobs (weedcraft:weed_user_0, weedcraft:weed_user_1, weedcraft:weed_wandering) use dedicated behavior files to manage AI, component groups for trading/sleeping states, and custom trade tables.

Custom Blocks: The weedcraft:weed_bush_bottom block uses permutations to visually change its texture based on its growth state.

Script API: The addon heavily utilizes the @minecraft/server API for various mechanics like applying status effects, triggering particles, and handling harvesting.

🛠️ Installation & Quick Setup Install and enable both the Behavior Pack and the matching Resource Pack in your world.

Make sure Beta APIs are enabled in your world settings to allow the scripts to run.

Recommended Minecraft Bedrock version: 1.21.90+.

🐞 Troubleshooting Mobs Not Spawning? You must explore new chunks after enabling the pack. Confirm both the BP and RP are active and that Beta APIs are enabled.

Plant Not Growing? Make sure the block is receiving random ticks (e.g., not too far from the player). Growth is not instantaneous.

Items Don't Give Effects? Ensure scripts are running correctly and there are no errors in the content log. This is almost always caused by Beta APIs being disabled.

📦 Compatibility Designed and tested for Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.90+. The Script API features are essential and will not work on older versions or without Beta APIs enabled.
