Whats up guys RR here. So today i am bringing you a add-on that is probably going to make you rage quit your survival world. Let us be honest for a second. Vanilla minecraft has become way too easy over the years. Once you get a full set of diamond or netherite armor and some mending enchantments you are basically an immortal god. You can just jump into a pool of lava or fight ten creepers at once and you wont even die.

There is no real fear anymore. So i sat down and thought about how to bring that extreme survival fear back into the game. That is why i created the RR Half Heart Challenge addon. This pack is exactly what it sounds like. You only get half a heart of health for your entire playthrough. It is the ultimate test of your gaming skills.

How The Hardcore System Works

So when you first load into your world with this pack enabled you will get a nice welcome message and a title on your screen telling you good luck. But the moment you spawn your health bar will instantly drop down to just half a single heart. That is literally 1 hit point. This means that absolutely any type of damage in the game is an instant one shot kill.

If you fall from 4 blocks high you die. If you touch a cactus in the desert you die. If a skeleton shoots you from miles away in the dark you instantly die. You have to completely change the way you walk and look around because even a small berry bush can end your whole career. It makes you paranoid about everything in the game.

Healing Is Completely Useless

Now you might be thinking ok i will just craft a golden apple or brew a potion of healing and get my health back to normal. Well i made sure you cannot cheat the system. I wrote a background loop in the script that constantly checks your exact health value every single moment. If your health ever tries to go above 1 hit point the game instantly forces it back down to half a heart.

So golden apples, suspicious stews, beacons and potions of regeneration are completely useless for gaining health. You are permanently locked at half a heart forever. Even when you die and respawn at your bed, the game remembers and you wake up with half a heart again with a chat message welcoming you back to the nightmare.

Tips For Surviving The Challenge

If you actually want to beat the ender dragon with this addon you need to play very smart. The first thing you need to do is craft a shield. A shield is literally your best friend because it blocks all incoming damage from zombies and arrows. You also need to avoid sprinting around mountains or ravines because one bad jump means you have to start all over again.

I highly recommend making a bow and getting lots of arrows as soon as possible so you can fight monsters from a safe distance. Never try to fight an enderman with a sword because they teleport and hit you instantly. It really forces you to use blocks to build walls and protect yourself instead of just running in with a sword.

Multiplayer Realms Experience

This addon is actually so much fun if you put it on a multiplayer realm with your friends. Imagine a whole server of people where everyone only has half a heart. It turns minecraft into a weird stealth horror game.

You have to be so careful around your friends because if you accidentally punch them while mining they will literally die instantly and lose all their items. It creates so many funny and stressful moments when you guys are trying to raid a nether fortress together and everyone is screaming and running away from one single blaze fireball.

Beta APIs Setup

this add-on uses custom background intervals to constantly check your player health component and clamp it down to exactly 1 HP, you absolutely must turn on the Beta APIs experiment in your world settings.

If you dont toggle this on before you load the game the health script will not execute at all and you will just have a normal full health bar. So please double check your experiments tab so the challenge actually works.
