🌿 Welcome to Habitual Pathing!

Have you ever noticed how real-world trails form just because people keep walking the exact same route? That's exactly what this add-on brings to your game. Habitual Pathing creates a truly living, breathing environment by organically tracking where you and the creatures of your world travel.

✨ Key features

Dynamic "desire paths": The world reacts to your presence. Walk over the same dirt or grass blocks frequently, and they will naturally wear down into dirt paths. This works for you and the mobs around you!
Ecological reclamation: Nature always heals! If a path is left unused for a long period, it won't stay a path forever. It will intelligently check its surroundings and gradually revert back to the dominant block type next to it (whether that's Grass, Podzol, Coarse Dirt, or Mycelium).
Smart & lightweight tracking: The system is built to be performance-friendly and logical. It specifically ignores lightweight or non-walking entities like baby animals, flying creatures (Parrots, Phantoms, Allays), and aquatic mobs. Paths only form where actual, heavy footsteps fall.
🏆 Achievement compatible: Play without worry, you can safely add this to your survival realms and worlds without disabling your hard-earned achievements.

⚙️ Highly customizable

I believe you should have total control over your world. If you want paths to form faster, or want nature to take longer to reclaim abandoned trails, you can easily tweak the add-on to fit your exact playstyle!

Simply open the scripts/main.js file in the add-on folder and adjust the variables right at the top:

THRESHOLD_PATH: How many steps it takes to trample grass into a path (Default: 8).
RECLAMATION_TICKS: How long a path must be completely abandoned before nature reclaims it (Default: 1,728,000 ticks).
BLOCKS_PER_TICK: Adjust the processing speed for performance tuning.
PATHABLE_BLOCKS: Add or remove blocks that can be trampled!
