Description
My son Danylo came up with this when he was six. He wanted a friend in Minecraft: a white ball with a face that flies after you and talks. But if you hit it, it becomes a monster and chases you, and a torch turns it back into a friend. I built it, he tested every version on his iPad, and here it is.
HOW IT GOES
You get the egg as soon as you enter a world, in Survival too. The white orb follows you, chirps, and if you give it a flower or an apple it's yours. It does a backflip and sings.
Hit it once and it goes dark. It flies lower, turns away from you and quietly asks you to stop.
Hit it again and it shakes for a few seconds, then a horned monster with red eyes comes out and hunts you. Even if it was your tamed pet a minute ago. After about half a minute it calms down and just walks after you, muttering. Hit the calm one and it panics, runs, and comes back angry.
Keep hitting the angry monster (three quick hits) and the body falls apart. What's left is the Shade: a black core with burning eyes and bits of shell spinning around it. Fast, flying, bites hard.
There is always a way back. A torch calms the dark orb and turns a calm monster into the friend again. A flower brings the Shade straight back to the white orb. Leave the Shade alone and it burns out by itself after 45 seconds.
Smaller things you'll find: sneak and tap the orb three times; a tamed calm monster fights whoever hurts you; a fermented spider eye turns the orb into a calm monster without any drama.
Every form has its own voice, and every hit gets a reply. There are two files: one with an English voice, one with a Ukrainian voice (we're from Ukraine). Menus and subtitles are in both languages either way.
INSTALL
Open the .mcaddon, then in the world settings turn on both packs (one under Behavior Packs, one under Resource Packs), and restart the game once. Needs Minecraft Bedrock 1.21 or newer. No experimental toggles, so achievements keep working.
All models, textures, sounds and code are our own. Idea and character: Basov Danylo. Built by his dad, Oleksandr Basov.
