Craft the Book of the Dead with a spider eye, redstone, a bone and a bone block, in any order.
Reading its 7 pages of symbols and creepy drawings ends with lightning striking 9–14 blocks away, and the message "The words have awakened the dead." Awakened Dead appear at night near cursed players, every 8–20 seconds, up to 6 at once.
They are weak: 2 damage, 3 with a sword and 4 with an axe.
Most already carry swords or axes, and they break doors, open trapdoors, and vanish at dawn.
Only dismemberment can kill them.
The Curse appears by day, stares from 18–28 blocks away, and vanishes when you look away. Rarely, it glides silently toward you (more likely near houses) and vanishes up close. It is harmless, invulnerable and hums.
The Thicket appears at night in forests to cursed players. It is slow but hits for 14. Only flint and steel fire can hurt it, or the chainsaw
Weapons
Iron sword, axe or hoe: every 5 hits tears off a part (4 limbs + head). Hands, wood and other items do nothing.
Hunting Rifle: 3 iron ingots, 2 cobblestone and 1 plank, any order. Each tap fires 2 shots with a 3-second reload. Three shots kill an Awakened Dead.
Ammo: 1 iron ingot and 1 copper ingot make 6 bullets. Each tap uses 2.
Chainsaw: 4 iron ingots, 2 copper ingots and 2 planks, any order. It deals 24 damage, kills an Awakened Dead in 5 hits, and kills The Thicket in 8..
