Eden — Ultra Crossbreeding
Eden turns every living creature in the game into breeding stock. Using Paradise Seeds,
you can crossbreed any two mobs — a cow with a spider, a villager with a creeper, a wolf with
a ghast — and get a working hybrid that inherits one parent's body, the other's head, and a
randomly rolled mix of both parents' behaviours. Hybrids can then be bred again, with vanilla
mobs or with each other, so traits stack generation after generation.
How it works
1. Harvest the seeds. 85 different vegetation blocks now drop Paradise Seeds — grass,
ferns, all leaf types, vines, cave vines, flowers, saplings, bamboo, cactus, kelp, mushrooms
and more. Every block drops one, every time, so you can start experimenting immediately
instead of farming for an hour.
2. Pick the first parent. Hold the seeds and use them on any creature. Chat confirms which
creature you selected.
3. Pick the second parent. Use the seeds on a second creature and the hybrid is born on the
spot. Chat lists exactly which traits it inherited, so you always know what you made.
All 89 living vanilla mobs are valid parents — passive animals, hostile mobs, villagers,
golems, fish, flying mobs. There is no recipe list and no restricted pairs.
## What a hybrid inherits
**Body.** The torso, tail and legs are taken whole from one parent, so the creature still reads
as a real animal instead of a pile of cubes. The head is grafted from the other parent and
re-seated on that body's actual neck joint — an upright body carries the head on its shoulders,
a four-legged body carries it forward on the chest. Legs can also be swapped between parents
that walk the same way. **A cross never produces an exact copy of either parent** — every
breeding gives you something new.
**Behaviour**, rolled independently in four slots:
| Slot | Possible outcomes |
|---|---|
| Combat | harmless · melee attack · poison melee · explodes like a creeper |
| Social | none · tameable pet · opens a trading menu |
| Mobility | normal walking · fast · climbs walls |
| Temper | neutral · skittish · always hostile · hostile only in the dark |
Because the slots roll separately, you get combinations that simply do not exist in vanilla
Minecraft:
- a creature you can **trade with that explodes** when you get too close
- a **tameable pet that climbs walls** and follows you up cliffs
- a peaceful-looking farm animal that **turns hostile after sunset**
- a fast, poisonous pack animal you can tame and keep as a guard
**Name.** Each hybrid is automatically named from both parents — Cow + Pig becomes "Coig",
Spider + Villager becomes "Spiager".
## How this changes the base game
- Grass and other plants stop being decoration and become your main resource — you break
vegetation to fuel breeding experiments.
- Mob farming changes completely: instead of collecting the mobs the world gives you, you
design your own. Want a trader that survives the night? Breed one.
- Because hybrids breed with hybrids, a world develops its own creature lineages over time.
Nothing is pre-authored — every creature you meet in a long-running world is the result of
choices someone made.
## Requirements
- Minecraft Bedrock Edition **1.26.30 or newer**
- The `.mcaddon` installs both packs (behaviour + resource). Enable both on your world.
- The behaviour pack uses the Script API, so scripting must be allowed on the world.
## Known limitations
- Four species (spider, villager, creeper, wolf) have fully remapped limb animation. The
remaining mobs render in a static pose while moving.
- Hybrids use one shared hitbox size, so very large donors can visually overflow it.
