Description
EchoHUD — Echolocation for Minecraft Bedrock
EchoHUD is an addon that turns ordinary survival into an echolocation challenge! Explore the world almost completely blind and use a special HUD to detect the direction of nearby entities and other events.
How does echolocation work?
The addon adds a circular HUD with directional indicators around the player. Each color represents a different category, helping you identify what is nearby without relying on your eyesight.
Indicator colors
- Red — hostile mobs, such as zombies, skeletons, and other monsters.
- Green — passive mobs, including animals and other non-hostile creatures.
- Cyan — other players.
- Orange — explosions.
Survive in complete darkness
EchoHUD uses blindness, darkness, and black fog to make ordinary vision practically useless. You will have to rely on directional indicators and your own sense of orientation to navigate the world and detect nearby threats.
Features
- A circular HUD with 16 directions to help identify where signals originate.
- Dynamic indicators that update as entities move.
- Recently detected signals appear brighter and gradually fade.
- Adjustable detection range from 4 to 64 blocks.
- Filters for different signal categories.
- Customizable HUD and individual indicator categories.
- Suitable for survival challenges, horror maps, and unusual PvP encounters.
Important information
Echolocation does not reproduce Minecraft's actual sounds. Instead, the addon detects certain game events and entity movements and represents them visually on the HUD.
Detection is not guaranteed for every action or entity. Indicators show the approximate direction of a signal rather than the exact coordinates of its source.
Both the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack are required. Script functionality may require a compatible Minecraft Bedrock version and the appropriate experimental features.
