DolphinMasterMB's interpretation of a Cave Dweller Addon With Unique AI for 26.20

My interpretation of a Cave Dweller, including a very deep unpredictable AI improvement to a familiar Minecraft Horror concept! A cool but terrifying experience! This entity literally has a mind of it's own! A fun experiment!

Adds a creepy Cave Dweller mob with adaptive AI that stalks players in deep caves, learns new abilities over time, and creates tense, unpredictable encounters.

Disclaimers:

  • It's definitely not a 1:1 Bedrock port to clear confusion! A good friend made this nice title some time ago and I chose to still use it lol!
  • Even though this addon features "unique AI", it's quite different from the Marketplace Cave Dweller! They both adapt and learn yes lol! BUT the Marketplace one is way more polished and is made by a professional studio making actual profit! This little addon is a very fun experiment made by a crazy dude with the hobby of making addons! It might be less polished, but has the benefit of being art made with passion and being ready to be improvised/improved at any time! It also might feel more natural due to having less boundaries! You will find out about those boundaries while playing! This addon just feels different, maybe slightly off! In a very good way lol!

Recommended using 4 Chunks Simulation Distance(Or lowest) for the intended spawn rate etc! As well as using Vibrant Visuals for the proper experience! Turn on experimental features just in case(For the script to unlock more deep features etc)! Turning on Beta Api in your Minecraft world from the experimental settings is required for the intended addon experience in Minecraft version 26.20 etc!

[Spoiler Warning] Some stuff that might occur in caves after activating this addon:

  • The cave dweller lurks in the caves
  • It's unpredictable
  • Slowly progressing when you are inside a cave
  • At first you might notice sounds are off
  • This will get worse
  • Eventually, you will feel like being followed perhaps stalked without being able to confirm it
  • Eventually, you will hear weird monster-like sounds echoing through the caves, those who aren't vanilla
  • At some point you hear pretty loud footsteps
  • Those will get closer and closer
  • You will start barely noticing the entity
  • It's very hideous (In early state)
  • Later, it starts playing/messing around etc.
  • From this point, quite a lot of weird random stuff can happen
  • Looking at it directly conflicts it; it responds in various kinda endless ways
  • Keeps its hideous attitude
  • It often just flees
  • It can put you off
  • It taunts/tricks you
  • It confuses you on purpose
  • Changes its attitude
  • It could be either passive, neutral, hostile
  • But also stuff in between
  • Mischievous
  • Playful
  • Sadistic
  • It's very agile too
  • It's not overpowered
  • It sticks and hangs
  • It climbs
  • It crouches
  • it peeks
  • It crawls into small gaps using this to its advantage
  • Getting too close might anger it
  • A chase can happen when or when you aren't ready
  • It has a huge environmental advantage
  • It progressively gets stronger
  • It unlocks/learns abilities
  • Some passive, some hostile and kinda nasty
  • It might learn to mine, use various tactical manoeuvres and a lot of other things you might not predict
  • It could learn to leave the caves, if the player progresses and reaches a certain level
  • It prefers darkness and uses it as coves
  • It might mess with the lighting
  • It has vicious glowing eyes (Very nice with Vibrant Visuals on)
  • Stuff happens and progresses quite slowly at random
  • Entering the Deepslate layer might wake it up early
  • The deeper you are inside the caves, the faster it progresses
  • Staying in deep caves is both risky and scary
  • It is super hideous sometimes and hides/peeks from cover
  • The AI is inconsistent in an interesting, eerie way
  • It might follow you into the Nether and eventually into the End too, if you reached a certain level

Making addons have been my hobby for quite some time! I have been a Sensei/Mad Scientist Hybrid being an actual source of inspiration for the Minecraft Horror addon community kinda on accident lmao! My main addon project "Fearcraft Nightfall" is delayed due the lack of a modeler unfortunately! To not get bored at making addons being my hobby, I started some mad experiments to expand my coding knowledge! To practice the new scripting API, I started a Xenomorph inspired project inside this already interesting Cave Dweller entity!

Come share the fun with me, by helping me test/confirm these behaviors in the experimental addon build:

  • The Cave dweller AI is a Hybrid of my usual already interesting AI and a new cool experimental scripting api based one,
  • The New Script based AI contains:
    • 7 Complex personalities that accent His already insanely effective cave traversal,
    • Adding a new Pathfinding system inspired by Xenomorph movement including animations etc,
    • Tweaked all animations to fit the system(might possibly look weird to some, but don't care lmao! Let's test and have mad fun!),
  • The Cave Dweller will be disgustingly agile and almost uncheeseable even for Speedrunners lmao,
  • He uses my usual legacy AI approach and new scripting API in conjunction!
  • He is desperate AF meaning WAY more intens chases,
  • Speaking of chases: I added a cool random grab/choke attack, where he randomly chokes your throat with his sharp claws making you bleed to death eventually,
  • When you bleed for too long or too often, a fatal insta death ignoring possibly all kinds of protection gets executed on you,
  • He drags you around, once grabbed. You might wanna escape by hitting Him,
  • Added a cool light flicker effect to torches that randomly happens as a sign of possible entity activity,
  • These features are highly experimental and are still being actively experimented on,
  • You have the privilege of playing it early, because I prefer engaging people into my fun experiences/experiments lol!

I strongly recommend giving it a try! It's literal Nightmare fuel! Especially to people that immerse themselves alot inside Minecraft's eerie and slightly disturbing peacefull atmosphere lol!
