The Crunching is a custom Minecraft mob created for a Bedrock Edition add-on. It is inspired by the "Creaking" mob concept revealed during Minecraft Live. The Crunching is designed to be an eerie, powerful creature with a tree-bark texture and a carved pumpkin-like face, complete with one large yellow eye surrounded by floating smaller eyes.

It spawns in the Pale Garden Biomes and requires Resin-related items/blocks to be summoned next to Crunching Sprout. Its abilities include:

Retracting Beam Stare: Immobilizes targets with its eye.
Thorny Root Traps: Summons roots that entangle and harm enemies.
Frenzy Mode: Activates when set on fire, increasing its speed and aggression.

The mob blends Minecraft's vanilla style with more intricate designs, offering a balanced yet distinct aesthetic for players. It was developed with community input, custom sound effects, and testing to enhance the gameplay experience.
