Description

A portal to an apocalyptic universe has unleashed the Cordyceps infection upon Minecraft, devastating the world and leaving survival only to the strongest.
CORDYCEPS ADDON v13.2.1 – is the biggest update yet, featuring new infected variants, massive hordes, terrifying Cordyceps nests, and fully explorable cities and structures inspired by The Last of Us. Stealth, strategy, and light are your only hope—infected thrive in total darkness.
Important: If you use this addon in videos, reviews, or other content, credit this post or the official YouTube trailer. Republishing on other sites or apps is not allowed without permission. This project took a lot of effort—thanks for supporting it.
1. Installation Guide:
Cordyceps addon has 2 versions of RESOURCE and BEHAVIOR packs: “FULL and LITE” These are the characteristics:
- Full Resource pack: Has all textures, sounds, particles, and full variations.
- Lite Resource Pack: Keeps the necessary sounds, removes block variants (meaning 1 texture per block), reduces custom particles to the minimum, or eliminates them in certain cases.
- Full Behavior Pack: Contains the complete experience regarding the gameplay of the addon, and the size of structures is at maximum. Here, cities, laboratories, and alcantarillas will feel colossal; sound events, infectados, and spawn probability will be original.
- Lite Behavior Pack: It is a reduced experience but not incomplete. All items, blocks, and entities exist just the same. What changes is the size of structures, and mechanics related to ambiance and entities might be restricted to a minimum depending on their type—like the flash when shooting, for example, or the spawn frequency of mobs. Giant structures reduce their size by half.
What should you install?
If you want to play the full experience, install the “FULL” packs. (maximun)
If you want to play the full experience at the level of behaviors and mechanics, you can combine the “Full Behavior Pack” with the “Lite Resource Pack”. (balanced)
If your device cannot handle so much, you can install both “Lite” packs. (low)
How does this affect multiplayer play?
When playing multiplayer, it is crucial for every player to have the same BEHAVIOR pack. The RESOURCE pack can vary for each player without issues. As a recommendation, have the packs already on your devices individually if you are going to play multiplayer, since due to its size there could be errors or difficulty loading the world.
2. Latest Global Update v13:
After several years stuck on v12 of Cordyceps addon, I am glad to bring these things and ideas announced in 2023. The global update is called “OUR BLOOD” and will revolve around the cult cordyceps, the first part being “SCARS OF THE DEEP”. The reason for the name is simple: originally it was going to be a small patch improving the Scars (seraphites), a faction from TLOU, but in the end these improvements expanded to all NPCs and even complex new mechanics. And why “the Deep”? Well, the underground structures have been totally renovated after several years. Therefore, it introduces:
-
First improvements to NPCs: they now feature improved combat, each with a weapon type and faction, as well as improved dynamic models and textures.
-
Colossal cities: these structures have been in constant evolution since 2023, changing for the better.
-
Serwers v2: the alcantarillas in Cordyceps date back to the early updates with the mythical concrete cave entrance; now they have received a full overhaul and a dungeon-worthy size with lore and horrors in the depths.
-
Laboratory v2: although the old underground section still exists as it was, there are now gigantic rooms even further down if you take the correct route, containing records of the horror that happened there, besides being the only structure where you can get crucial objects to fight the cordyceps.
-
seraphite forest: originally, as mentioned, this last UPDATE was only going to bring this along with its faction. This biome is a variant of jungles, full of large, very dense trees with dark areas. You will hear whistles frequently since here you find the “Puestos Scars”, a group of cabins inhabited by this faction.

3. Basic Guide to the Addon
Now yes, the DEFINITIVE BASIC GUIDE TO PLAYING CORDYCEPS ADDON; I know that reading a lot can feel tiring, so we will look at a general guide with recommendations and common things to play, followed by all the detailed information of the addon. How to PLAY CORDYCEPS ADDON? When starting, you will spawn in a bunker where you will have basic things to survive, so make sure to check everything, as there are hidden things. (Each global update might change the bunker or initial structure according to the theme of the update, so the loot found may vary).
What could you find?
· Level 1 – 2 health upgrade pills (pastillas de mejora de vida), use them to increase your maximum health points respectively. You can find more in special structures and by defeating certain bosses.
· Throwable objects, enemies will be attracted to them, from explosives to common things like a brick. Keep your distance from a thrown bomba de clavo, as it can instakill almost anything.
· Dagas; cause instakill to all "common" NPCs and infectados (that is, those that are not bosses, muted, necrocordyceps, or from special events).
· Camouflage suit “Ghillie”. STEALTH works under these conditions:
Scenario 1:
-
Wearing the Ghillie suit
-
Crouching
-
Being in a dark area (lower than level 7)
Scenario 2:
-
Wearing the Ghillie suit
-
Crouching
-
Being inside vegetation (does not include 1-block flowers, dry leaves, cordyceps blocks, or vines)
-
In the left corner you can see the stealth status “ACTIVE / INACTIVE”. You will have stealth levels; if the bar reaches 5/5, your stealth will be locked until it drops to 0/5. The enemies targeting you will not recognize you, so keep the following in mind:
-
Stealth points will go down randomly.
-
Attacks that do not cause instant death, such as hits or shots from less powerful weapons, will cause your stealth to lock immediately.
-
Heavy weapons like snipers and some rifles can instakill, but for each kill 1 or 2 points will be randomly added to your stealth.
-
You can use dagas to instakill comfortably while in stealth.
· Firearms, blocks like black briefcases and display cases can drop weapons or ammunition.
· Can oppener and canned food (latas de comida). In this world you have two food options: cans or venison meat. It will be rare to see animals. With the abrelatas in your main hand, click and it will open the cans in your inventory in groups of 16. The abrelatas has a total of 20 uses.
· Anti-spore masks (mascaras anti-esporas); there are different models, all serving the same function (protecting you from spores generated by the “spore block”). As a recommendation, always keep them equipped. You could also use pastillas antifúngicas, which protect you from spores for a limited time (20 min).
· Medicines; like the aforementioned pastillas antifúngicas, there are also antibiotics which remove the wither effect given by spores, bandages (vendas) give you rapid regeneration, and adrenaline and coffee (café) will grant you speed.
· Items like sachets with something strange inside, cigarettes, and others can be used as currency with NPCs.
· Bombas antifúngicas; in the bunker there are some that serve for the player to experiment with—throw them near infectados or cordyceps blocks to see what happens.
· A radio; this can play music and other audio. To access the additional music (with copyright), you must download the “music radio” pack. Regardless, the radio already has non-copyright sounds if you decide not to use the pack; keep this in mind if you are a content creator. To turn on the radio, you must click it and the antenna will rise; now crouch and click again to play a song. You can switch between songs while crouching, because if you click while standing the radio will turn off—just don't do it too fast or you could break the radio.
· Turrets (torretas); it's simple: you place them and they will attack the infectados. They can be repaired with iron ingots, and you can remove them by hitting them. Don't worry, the bullets from the turrets do not damage players or other turrets.
The bunker will regenerate every time a new player joins the world, and in v13+ it features lore that connects to other structures in the addon (you could take advantage of that).
After the bunker: Upon exiting you will find the post-apocalyptic world. On the first few days you will mostly see runners, although if you go to dark areas or nests, the classic clickers will be waiting for you. Walking around, you could find the following: · Throwable objects, from bricks to cans, give extreme slowness to infectados, and if you are in stealth you can use them to distract them since they will all go to investigate where the object fell.
· Stealth; you must have a camouflage suit equipped and be crouching. Doing this will make you invisible, just be careful not to make noise since blind infectados do not rely on sight. You can use throwable objects to alter your escape.
· Dagas; there are craftable dagas and Ellie's dagger (which you must trade exclusively with her). Do not use them to hit; instead, approach stealthily and interact with the entity. Upon doing so, it will die immediately. The craftable dagger has 3 uses and Ellie's has 20 uses, but it is repairable on the anvil.
· Cordyceps nests (Nidos cordyceps); these are structures made by the fungus in which hordes of infecteds sleep. Be careful where you step; if you hear a crash… you should step aside and watch.
· Abandoned cities (Ciudades abandonadas); huge cities if you play with the full version of the behavior pack, which are full of infectados and varied loot. Check the buildings: some will have trash and elements to craft items, while others will have real war arsenals (it is recommended to lower render distance/chunks when playing here, as the immense amount of decoration can cause lag on low-resource devices).
· Megastructures (Megaestructuras): various exist and are characterized by being giant structures, from the capitol, King Rat's hospital, the school in Bill's town, to the military airport where the addon's greatest challenge rests. These mega-structures contain the highest amount of loot; some are safe and others completely the opposite.
· NPCs, factions, and their bases: FEDRA, WOLF, civilians, and LUCIERNAGAS will all be neutral. NPCs carrying a backpack are merchants. Note: there are exclusive items or things from NPCs that are very rare to get elsewhere, such as special saddles, vehicles, flamethrowers, and night vision helmets. Remember to keep trading, as each NPC has random loot and levels.
· TLOU Characters: Joel, Ellie, Bill, Tommy, and Abby are included, each with their special trades. They can appear randomly alongside the traveling merchant.
· Hunter patrols (Patrullas de cazadores): these are aggressive NPCs that will appear randomly alongside the wandering merchant in groups of 5. If you kill them all, there is a chance to trigger a hunter assault, which has 4 waves with a great reward at the end.
· The sewers (Las alcantarillas): a large structure that in its depths harbors remnants as well as ores of gunpowder and processed sulfur. If you want ammunition, you will have to go down here to get gunpowder, which is used to craft various items in the addon.
· Cordyceps blocks (Bloques cordyceps): pay attention to the textures of each one. Most can be burned and die when a bomba fungicida is thrown nearby.
· Block infection: there is the “tocon cordyceps”, a neutral infected that will not attack the player. And what is its purpose? Well, it sometimes spawns from spore blocks with a low probability, which is why you must burn spore blocks to prevent it from spawning. If it does, it will attract blind infectados to be attacked, meaning infectados like clickers and bloaters will kill it. Each hit this entity receives generates cordyceps blocks on the ground, among them the dreaded “tocon tree”, which is capable of infecting any block in Minecraft (except dead cordyceps blocks or the reinforced anti-Cordyceps block). Therefore, you must burn the tocon cordyceps infected before other infectados arrive to kill it—only then will you prevent the apocalypse. Some bosses have the same mechanic.
· Anti Fungic Bomb; the normal one serves to kill cordyceps blocks, and the compressed one to destroy the spore flower block (bloque de la flor de esporas), an event that occurs after a series of unfortunate events.
· Spore flower (Flor de esporas); an event that appears from one tragedy after another. When killing stalkers, there is a chance to generate a muted block (indestructible), from which an egg will grow that after a while will give birth to a Muted cordyceps. Upon death, it has a 50% chance to drop a cordyceps cleaner block (bloque de limpiador cordyceps), which will generate a giant infected “cleawer”. Upon dying, the cleawer plants the spore flower, a pillar that shoots spores into the sky, generates infection blocks around it, buffs nearby infectados, and nerfs players. It can only be stopped if a player throws a compressed fungicide bomb onto the upper part of the flower where the spores shoot into the sky.
· Reinforced anti-Cordyceps block; this is crafted with gunpowder, metal blocks, and processed sulfur (which is only obtained deep in the serwers). They are useful for creating safe zones, as cordyceps blocks will stay 4 blocks away from them. To activate the blocks, you strictly require the core Anticordyceps: holding the block and interacting with the core will activate them, making them usable for protection.
· The laboratories : responsible for the existence of many strange infectados, and two species: the “muted” and the “necrocordyceps”, the latter being abundant in the labs. It functions similarly to a trial chamber: there are corrupted blocks on the floor; if you touch them, they generate a corrupt totem linked to certain infectados. If you kill these infectados near the totem, it will drop exclusive laboratory loot—ranging from core anticordyceps fragments to a weapon created by scientists, or bodies to build an infectaded that serves as a flying vehicle. Do not kill the infectados too far from where they spawned, otherwise they won't drop the loot.
· Anticordyceps Core; the ultimate weapon against the fungus, crafted with the fragments you can obtain in the laboratory. You must use compressed fungicide bombs to activate it. Each use will kill all cordyceps blocks in a 32x32 area and cause massive damage to infecteds in that same area. Once dead cordyceps blocks are present, cordyceps blocks (tocon tree) will not be able to grow over them, making it a safe area.
· Anti-Cordyceps Cannons: in the laboratories there will be testing areas with experimental weapons that cause heavy damage to infectados. Normally you will find a cordyceps beam launcher cannon alongside 2 chargers. You must interact with the chargers; when the beam turns cyan, it will have loaded 1 level. You need to charge it twice and it will shoot beams at nearby infectados.
· Craftable Anti-Cordyceps Cannon: this is crafted with an anticordyceps cannon, a charger, and an active bloque reforzado anticordyceps. The only way to obtain the cannon blocks and chargers is with an “anticordyceps key”, which can only be obtained by defeating the most powerful creature inhabiting the laboratories.
· Coming soon Bunkers: abandoned underground structures that, if cleared, can serve as a safe home since they will be surrounded by bloque reforzado anticordyceps, preventing block infection from entering.
· Seattle Hospital (Hospital de Seatle): home of the King Rat, a formidable enemy with two phases. Medical kits abound in this location, so you can farm bandages.
· Amulet Tlou: the item attracts NPCs from the addon so they follow you.
· Serafite Forest: a faction that believes the world before the apocalypse must be left completely behind. This faction mainly inhabits this area. Be careful, although in their bases you can find the best melee weapons and obtain the mazo, a melee weapon that deals 30 points of damage.
· The final boss of the Addon is located in the military airports: “Harvester Multi Infected Cordyceps”.
Thank you for reading; this is a basic guide that will serve to give you a general idea and keep you from getting lost. If you want more specific details, you can check the upcoming video “Guia Completa de Cordyceps addon” or the document of the same name; if it is not available when you read this, it is because it is still in the process of being created.
