Building Assistant is a free building toolkit for Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

Create geometric shapes, copy and paste structures, reshape terrain, measure distances, and undo or redo block changes—all from one convenient toolkit.

Instead of entering commands for every operation, you can access building tools directly through a special hotbar-based menu.

Whether you're working on large structures, landscaping, or detailed construction projects, Building Assistant helps you work more efficiently.

Features

1. Hotbar-Based Building Menu

Access the building tools using the Building Assistant Kit.

Automatically receive the kit when joining the world.
Open the toolkit by using the item.
Navigate between tools using your hotbar.
Your original hotbar items are temporarily stored while the menu is open.
Exit the menu to restore your original hotbar.
Includes recovery handling for interrupted sessions.

2. Measuring Tool

Measure areas and distances using two points.

Set Point A and Point B.
View the distance between the selected points.
Check the X, Y, and Z coordinate differences.
Calculate the dimensions of the selected area.
Display the total number of blocks within the selected region.
View particle markers and outlines for easier positioning.

3. Shape Builder

Automatically generate three types of geometric shapes.

Available Shapes:

Sphere: Create a hollow spherical shell.
Circle: Create a circular outline.
Torus: Create a ring-shaped 3D structure.

Customization:

Adjust the radius and dimensions.
Choose from preset building materials.
Enter custom block IDs.
Generate circles horizontally or vertically.
Choose between placing blocks in empty spaces and replacing existing blocks.
Set the center position before generation.
Review the shape settings before confirming.

Shape generation supports up to 32,768 target cells per operation.

4. Structure Copy & Paste

Save and reuse your buildings.

Select a structure using Point A and Point B.
Save up to 10 structures per player.
Assign custom names to saved structures.
Browse your structure library.
Rename, overwrite, or delete saved structures.
Paste saved structures into the world.
Rotate structures in 90-degree increments.
Supports horizontal and vertical rotation controls.
Adjust placement along the X, Y, and Z axes.
Move the placement position one block at a time.
Preview the placement before confirming.
Cancel a placement to restore the saved pre-preview block state.

Structure Limits:

Maximum volume: 32,768 blocks
Maximum dimensions: 64 × 257 × 64 blocks
Blocks are copied, but entities are not.

Note: Structure previews temporarily place blocks in the world. The addon saves the previous block state for restoration when the preview is canceled.

Some block orientations and multi-block structures may not be reproduced perfectly after vertical rotation.

5. Terrain Editing Tools

Shape and modify terrain with three dedicated tools.

Mound Tool

Create rounded mounds above the selected ground.
Adjust the mound diameter from 1 to 49 blocks.
Choose preset materials or enter custom block IDs.
Select air-only placement or block replacement.

Block Replacement Tool

Replace a selected block type within a spherical area.
Configure the source and replacement materials.
Use preset materials or custom block IDs.
Adjust the diameter from 1 to 49 blocks.
Only matching source blocks are replaced.

Smooth Brush

Smooth uneven natural terrain.
Adjust the brush diameter from 3 to 49 blocks.
Choose Weak, Normal, or Strong smoothing.
Designed for supported natural terrain blocks.
Useful for landscaping, hills, and terrain preparation.

Terrain tools operate on the area you target in the world.

6. Undo & Redo History

Building Assistant includes three separate history systems.

Manual History

Records player block placement and breaking.
Undo or redo recorded changes.
Supports up to 100 operations.

Command History

Select a region using Point A and Point B.
Start recording the region's block states.
Perform your building commands.
Stop recording to capture the changes.
Undo or redo recorded changes within the selected region.

Tool History

Undo or redo supported Building Assistant operations.
Includes shape generation, terrain editing, and structure placement.
Supports up to 30 operations.

Command History also supports up to 30 recorded operations.

Each history system has its own limits, and history is not intended as permanent world-backup storage.

How to Use

Download and import Building Assistant into Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
Enable both the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack in your world settings.
Enter the world and receive the Building Assistant Kit.
Use the kit to open the building menu.
Select the tool you want from the hotbar.
Configure the tool and perform your building operations.
Use Exit to close the menu and restore your original hotbar.

Important Notes

This addon directly edits blocks in the world.
Large operations are limited to reduce excessive processing.
Some operations require the target chunks to be loaded.
Structure copying does not include entities.
Vertical structure rotation may not preserve every block orientation.
Undo and redo histories have operation and block-change limits.
The Structure Library is stored in the world, while undo/redo history is maintained during the active script session.
Back up important worlds before performing large-scale editing.
