Builder's Best Friend - (QOL Crafting)

Welcome to Builder's Best Friend! The vanilla-friendly addon designed to make building in Minecraft Bedrock more efficient through crafting recipes. (this addon will not disable achievements)

Does this sound familiar to you?!

You're working on a on a roof that requires wooden stairs, you have to place a crafting table down and pay 6 planks in exchange for 4 stairs, you cry a little on the inside knowing that four 3/4 blocks are not equivalent to six full blocks.

You go to your storage only to find your chests are filled to the brim with block variants, slabs, stairs, trapdoors, and buttons.

You accidentally craft 2 stacks of stairs, which will then clog up your inventory and halt your build proccess.

Shred your entire wood supply on the bad deal of 6 planks for 2 trapdoors.

Place down a stack of logs to strip them for some shelves.

Constantly going back and forth between the crafting table, stone cutter, and your build only to find that you're out of resources and need to go mining again, despite having 2 stacks of chiseled stone brick.

In that case, Builder's Best Friend may be right for you!

Minecraft has always had a problem when it comes to inventory management. In terms of exploration, the current inventory management is solid, you have to pick and choose what to pick up, what to drop, and when to turn back to bring home to loot.

But in terms of building, the game simply has too many block varieties that clog up inventory space. Bundles and Copper Golems are a massive help, but they don't help with making building a smooth, fun, and experimental creative experience.

The crafting can be punishing to the player, experimenting with different designs and block pallettes all come at a cost of your resources, trying to find a new use for those slabs in the future while they collect dust in your storage.

Builder's Best Friend aims to solve that with the second most important thing in Minecraft, the craft part of it.

Let's take a look at some of the new recipes!

Recipes

Slabs and Stairs:

All slabs and stairs can now be crafted in the inventory, and converted back into full blocks. Beware, your bundles may start picking up extra slabs.

Buttons and Pressure Plates

Buttons and pressure plates are more resource consistent, giving 4 instead of 1, and plates requiring slabs to not overlap with the new slab recipe. All can be converted back to blocks.

Trapdoors and Doors

The recipes remain the same, but trapdoors give 6, and both can be crafted back to blocks.

Other QOL Recipes

Just some additional QOL recipes to make sure that you're getting the best value out of your blocks, and that your storage isn't overcrowded with items you won't be using any time soon. (Hanging signs will also return you 2 iron nuggets).

Cutting Bench

The Stonecutter has gotten a new rebranding for marketing and PR purposes. Especially since Wood is no longer segregated from the precision crafting techniques provided by the Stonecutter.

Additionally, the cutting bench is now your go to spot for converting your variant blocks back down to their base block. If you can craft them into variants, why can't you craft variants back into blocks??

Crafted too many chiseled tuff bricks? Convert them back to tuff bricks!

Still not satisfied? Well convert those bricks to polished tuff!

Feeling greedy?? Cut it all the way down back to its raw form!

Of course, this can apply to all blocks with variants. Your deepslate chest will thank you.

Don't think I forgot about copper! Cut those blocks into bars, chains, doors, and trapdoors so you don't have to wait for more oxidation. (this also works on iron)
