Dyeable Update

Blindfolds can now be dyed in all 16 vanilla dye colors!

New

• 16 blindfold colors. White, Orange, Magenta, Light Blue, Yellow, Lime, Pink, Gray, Light Gray, Cyan, Purple, Blue, Brown, Green, Red, and Black. Each color has its own item, icon, and name (for example, "Red Blindfold").
• Dye recipe. Combine any blindfold with a dye in a crafting table to get a blindfold in that dye's color. Brown dye gives you the original blindfold.
• Colored blindfolds on mobs. A blindfold put on a mob now shows the color of the item you used. This works on every mob that supports blindfolds: zombies, zombie villagers, husks, drowneds, skeletons, strays, wither skeletons, piglins, piglin brutes, zombie piglins, villagers, vindicators, pillagers, evokers, pigs, witches, cows, sheep, iron golems, creepers, wardens, and withers.
• Colored screen overlay. When you wear a blindfold, the screen overlay now matches its color. Swapping to a blindfold of a different color updates the overlay right away.
• Shears return the right color. Removing a blindfold from a mob with shears drops a blindfold of the same color it was wearing.

How to use

• Hold a blindfold and hit a mob or another player to put it on them.
• Hit a blindfolded mob with shears to take the blindfold off.
• Craft a blindfold with a dye to change its color.

Compatibility

• The original (brown) blindfold keeps its item, so your existing items and worlds are safe.
• Mobs that were already blindfolded before this update are treated as brown, and drop a brown blindfold when sheared.

Known limitations

• A blindfolded mob can't be re-dyed directly. Take the blindfold off with shears first, then put on a new color.
