Better Looting
An OP-Balanced Vanilla Loot Overhaul for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition
Compatible with Minecraft Bedrock 1.21 and later, including 1.26.
Overview
Better Looting is a behavior pack that retunes the vanilla loot system across the entire game. A total of 199 loot tables — covering hostile and passive mobs, dungeon and structure chests, fishing and other gameplay drops, dispensers, decorated pots, and trial spawners — have been carefully rebalanced to reward active play while preserving the progression and economy of the vanilla game.
The guiding principle is straightforward: every expedition should feel more rewarding, without rendering mining, farming, or exploration obsolete.
No custom items. No scripting. No experimental toggles. The pack installs in under a minute and works alongside most other behavior packs and Achievements are obtainable.
Key Features
- Amplified mob drops. Base drop ranges are raised across all 122 entity tables — for example, bones and arrows now drop 1–3 instead of 0–2, ender pearls 1–2 instead of 0–1, and blaze rods 1–2 instead of 0–1.
- Player-gated bonus pools. Thirteen signature mobs receive a hand-designed bonus pool that only rolls on player kills, yielding emeralds, diamonds on challenging mobs, and even netherite scrap from wither skeletons at very low odds. Automated farms benefit from the improved base drops; the jackpots are reserved for players who fight.
- Richer structure chests. Fifty-nine chest tables gain additional treasure rolls and substantially improved rare weights — diamonds, emeralds, enchanted golden apples, enchanted books, and music discs all appear more often.
- Looting enchantments matter more. Rare-drop chances are approximately doubled at baseline and per-level Looting scaling is increased by half, making Looting III the single best investment for treasure hunters.
- Vanilla mechanics preserved. Signature conditions are kept exactly as Mojang authored them: skeleton-killed creeper disc drops, wither skeleton skull data values, fire-smelted hoglin pork, jockey-specific discs, and suspicious-stew effects all behave as before.
