Better Fire+ | Make the fire more interactive!

An add-on that gives fire and lava realistic heat physics—shattering glass, turning concrete black, melting ice, drying clay, and causing heavy ceilings to collapse.

Better Fire+

Better Fire+ turns fire and heat sources in Minecraft into a real hazard. Instead of fire only burning away wood, nearby blocks now react to high heat based on material type, distance, and exposure time.

The glass shattered due to the high temperature.
  • Fire, lava, magma, campfires, and active furnaces heat up surrounding blocks over time. (But it doesn't mean a lantern will burn your house down because the heat is not enough)
  • High temperatures will shatter, scorch, melt, or ignite nearby materials(such as glass, lantern and redstone lamp).
  • Extinguishing heat sources allows blocks to gradually cool down.

Emoji Block Reactions

  • Glass Shattering: Glass blocks and panes crack and shatter into shards when exposed to intense heat from flames or lava.
  • Soot & Burning: Fire leaves dark burn marks behind. Bright concrete turns dark gray/black, terracotta scorches, and stone builds up soot.
  • Melting & Baking:
    • Sand placed next to lava bakes into glass.
    • Clay blocks near campfires harden into terracotta.
    • Ice and snow melt into water, and wet sponges dry out.
    • Basalt and smooth stone crack under extreme thermal shock.
  • Copper Interactions: Heat strips the wax off waxed copper blocks and speeds up oxidation on exposed copper.

Note that wooden containers like chests and barrels will be burned down and the loots will be dropped, so always keep your wooden containers in a safe place! :)

  • Ceiling Collapses: Burning down wooden support beams causes some blocks(furnance, cauldron etc.) to collapse and crush anything below.

  • Radiant Heat: Standing near large fires or open lava lakes deals heat damage and sets players or mobs on fire. Solid walls block radiant heat, so you can take cover behind barriers.

You can toggle features and adjust heat settings in-game using /fire and /firefeature commands (requires cheats/operator permissions).

Toggle Features

/firefeature <feature> [true|false]
Example:  /firefeature glassShatter true

Available toggles:

glassShatter, sootColoring, vitrify, stoneCrack, melting, charWood, scorchPlants, ignitables, fragileBreak, containerSpill, copperOxidize, heatRadiation, emberJump, heavyCollapse, ambientEffects, evaporateWater

 

Tweak Physics Settings

/fire <intensity|radius|rate> [value]

  • /fire intensity 1.5 — Heat multiplier (Default: 1.0)
  • /fire radius 3 — Heat check radius in blocks (Default: 2)
  • /fire rate 20 — Simulation check interval in ticks (Default: 20 ticks = 1 second)

Note: Omit the value parameter to check current settings.

Includes native translations for 8 languages:

  • English (en_US),
  • Simplified Chinese (zh_CN), Traditional Chinese (zh_TW),
  • Japanese (ja_JP),

//  INSTALLATION  \\

  1. Open Better Fire+.mcaddon to import both the Behavior and Resource packs into Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
  2. Enable both packs in your World Settings.
  3. Requires Minecraft Bedrock Edition v1.26.40 or higher.
