Armor Ping - Live Durability HUD

 i am bringing you a life saving behavior pack for your survival worlds. We all know how annoying it is when you are fighting a boss like the wither or exploring a dangerous bastion and suddenly your chestplate breaks. You dont even notice it until you take massive damage and die.

Vanilla minecraft doesnt really warn you when your armor is about to break unless you open your inventory in the middle of a fight which is very dangerous and gets you killed.

So i made the RR Armor Ping addon to fix this problem completely. This pack adds a live durability HUD directly on your screen so you always know exactly how much life your armor has left without opening any menus.

​How The HUD Works

So when you equip any armor like iron diamond or netherite the pack automatically detects it. It puts a really clean HUD above your hotbar. It shows four visual bars for your helmet chestplate leggings and boots. The bars change color based on how much durability is left in them. Green is good, yellow means it is getting low and red means critical. It also shows the exact name of the armor type you are wearing like Diamond or Netherite. I also added a feature where it shows the exact percentage of durability left for each slot right on the screen. Oh and if you want to turn the whole HUD off quickly because it is distracting you while building your house, you just hold a Stick in your hand and sneak and it toggles off instantly.

​Warnings and Custom Settings

The best part of this pack is the actual warning system. If you are just mining and not really paying attention to your screen, the pack will actually play a warning sound when your armor gets low. When it hits the critical level it plays a scary bass sound to alert you to stop fighting and repair your gear immediately.

If an armor piece actually breaks it plays a loud shatter sound and flashes a red warning on the screen. Also you can totally customize all of this. If you hold a Name Tag and sneak it opens a huge UI settings menu. Here you can turn off specific things. Like if you dont want to see the percentages or the armor type you can just hide them. You can also use a slider to change the warning threshold. By default it warns you at 20 percent but you can change it to 10 or 40 percent whatever you want.

​Stats Tracking and Milestones

I also added a fun tracking system because i love seeing stats in my game. The pack tracks exactly how many armor pieces you have broken in your lifetime. If you hold a normal Book and sneak it opens the stats menu. Here you can see how many times you triggered a warning and your total broken armors. It even tracks your longest surviving armor. Like if you wear a chestplate for 50 minutes without taking it off or breaking it, it records it as your best record. If you break 10 or 50 or 100 armor pieces the game actually gives you milestone titles on your screen like Armor Breaker or Gear Destroyer. It makes losing your armor a little bit less painful because at least you get a cool achievement for it.

​Beta APIs Setup

Since this pack is constantly checking your exact armor durability slots in the background and running the custom UI menus when you sneak with items, you absolutely must turn on the Beta APIs in your world settings. If you dont turn it on the HUD will not appear on your screen and none of the warning sounds will play. So make sure you toggle that on before you start playing or it wont work.
