Description
Amethyst Pickaxe MCBE:
A netherite-tier pickaxe that mines a full 3x3 area in a single swing — Efficiency V and Silk Touch built in from the moment it's crafted. every pickaxe expires after 24 hours of playtime, so it never permanently breaks your server's progression.
Inspired by the Donut SMP, rebuilt from scratch with a full in-game configuration menu — you don't need to edit files, nor restart the world!

FEATURES
• 3x3 area mining, configurable up to 5x5 — width and height adjust independently
• Efficiency V + Silk Touch, applied automatically the instant it's crafted
• Permanent enchanted glint and an epic-rarity name, even with no enchantments applied
• Expires on its own — crumbles to dust after a set number of hours of world playtime (not held time), so giving it to a friend doesn't reset the clock
• Live countdown — hours and minutes in the tooltip, a ticking seconds counter on the action bar while it's in your hand
• 20 selectable particle effects for the area break, from Obsidian Glow to End Rod to Totem
• Fully dupe-safe — chests, barrels, hoppers, shulker boxes, and every other container are never broken or swept, so this pickaxe cannot be used to dupe loot
• Optional durability, optional sneak-to-mine-a-single-block, and a custom list of blocks the area mine always skips
• Customizeable unbreakable blocks! You can set whatever block you want to not be able to be broken with the pickaxe!

CONFIGURATION
Give an admin the tag, then open the menu:
/tag <player> add admin
/amethyst:config
Everything below is a toggle or slider in that one menu:
• Expiration — on/off, and how many hours of world playtime (1-168)
• Area size — width and height, 1-5 each
• Silk Touch — apply it to newly crafted pickaxes or not
• Particle style — choose from 20 built-in particle effects
• Action bar countdown — live seconds while holding the pickaxe
• Sneak to mine single block — lets players opt out of the area break mid-mine
• Durability — off by default, turn on if you want the pickaxe to wear down
• Excluded blocks — a custom list the area mine will never break

FAQ
Does this work in survival multiplayer / on SMPs?
Yes — it was built specifically for SMP use, with anti-dupe protections on every container block.
If I give the pickaxe to a friend, does the timer reset?
No. The expiration time is stamped onto the item itself the moment it's crafted, based on total world playtime. Trading, storing, or holding it changes nothing.
Does it work with other addons?
Yes. It doesn't touch or depend on vanilla loot tables beyond the normal drop system, and it uses its own item ID so it won't conflict with other add-ons.
Can I stop it from breaking spawners, ores I want protected, or a specific block?
Yes — add any block ID to the excluded list in /amethyst:config.
What happens right when it expires?
The pickaxe that ran out of time is removed from whichever inventory slot it's sitting in, with a sound and a message. Other pickaxes (crafted at a different time) are unaffected.
Do I need any experimental toggles?
No. It's built entirely on the stable Minecraft Script API.
