AlphaDays – Minecraft Bedrock Addon

AlphaDays is a gameplay addon for Minecraft Bedrock Edition that adds content from Minecraft’s earliest development eras directly into modern Minecraft. This is not a texture pack — all content is added as new blocks and items, allowing classic and modern features to exist side-by-side.

The addon is built around the idea of preserving Minecraft’s history while keeping it playable in current versions of the game.

This is the first version of the add-on, so be aware that it is not polished or even super survival friendly yet. USE NEWEST UPDATE OF MINECRAFT (v26.0)

Core Goals

Add historical Minecraft content without replacing vanilla blocks
Allow old and new Minecraft features to coexist
Recreate removed, unreleased, and cancelled concepts
Organize content by development era for clarity and expansion
Keep everything compatible with modern Bedrock systems

Current Version Focus

This first version of AlphaDays focuses primarily on:

Pre-Classic
Classic

with early expansion into:

Indev
Infdev
Early Release prototypes

Some cancelled and experimental concepts from later development stages are also included.

Pre-Classic Content

Adds early versions of Minecraft’s most basic building blocks, reflecting their original appearances and limitations.

Included Original Features:

Pre-Classic grass, dirt, stone, and cobblestone. Pre-Classic Grass spreads to Pre-Classic Dirt!
Early plank variants
Original sapling (Does not grow into tree)

How to obtain:

Put dirt, grass, stone, cobblestone, planks, or oak sapling into stonecutter to get options to make old versions

Classic Content

Reintroduces a wide selection of Classic-era blocks and materials, including multiple historical variants where applicable.

Included Original Features:

Full Classic cloth color palette (old wool)
Classic stone, bricks, smooth stone, sand, gravel, and bedrock
Early ore and block variants (coal, iron, gold)
Classic glass variants
Classic wood blocks, leaves, and saplings (Does not grow into tree)
Classic flowers and mushrooms
Classic TNT variants. These work like tnt for the most part but can not be used in chain reactions.
Sponge and obsidian as they existed in Classic. The sponge even never dries up and always absorbs water (like it did back in the day).

Included Expanded Features:

Carpets for the cloth blocks

Note: Ore do not have proper functionality yet. No crafting recipes for any cloth blocks yet. Sand and Gravel do not fall.

Indev Content

Introduces early experimental blocks from the Indev era.

Included Original Features:

Indev diamond block
Indev sapling (Does not grow into tree)

Infdev Content

Adds the original Infdev coral and its speculated color range, preserved as standalone blocks.

Included Original Features:

Unused Indev "coral" texture
USE NEWEST UPDATE OF MINECRAFT (v26.0)

Included Expanded Features:

13 colors of the unused Indev "coral" texture.

Note: Indev "coral" is not available in survival mode yet. If you have an idea of how you should be able to, let me know.

Post-Release & Prototype Content

Adds early Release-era concepts, features, prototypes, and cancelled ideas that were tested but never fully implemented.

Includes:

Experimental colored wood plank blocks.
Prototype coral blocks shown in the MINECON live 2017 video.
Unused coral block textures. These coral blocks die when out of water for too long! The non-full blocks do not die yet.
Textures from offical update art added.

How to obtain:

Craft colored wood by surrounding a dye with any combination of dye. Note that some tags are currently broken so you may only be able to use oak, birch, jungle, birch, acacia, and dark oak planks (or combinations of only these) for crafting these items for now.
Craft old coral full blocks by using a stonecutter and their respective modern counterpart.
Dead ccoral blocks obtained from keeping living coral blocks outside of water
USE NEWEST UPDATE OF MINECRAFT (v26.0)

Note: Not all coral types are available in survival mode yet.

Organization & Accessibility

All AlphaDays content is grouped by development era in the creative inventory in the EQUIPMENT section
Blocks and items are clearly separated from vanilla content
Works with all add-ons and on realms. Does not disable achievements.

Future Plans

Planned expansions include:

CRAFTING RECIPES AND PROPER BEHAVIOR FOR BLOCKS AND ITEMS
Additional blocks from later Alpha, Beta, and Release eras
Cancelled and unreleased mechanics
Custom mobs such as original zombie pigman or OG wolf prototype.
Era-accurate sounds and ambient effects
Further refinement of historical behaviors
Classic Minecraft biome with old grass and structures.
Cyan rose and nether reactor core (with realistic experience).
