EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements (a.k.a. EVE) is a mod for KSP that adds clouds and city lights. It is highly configurable and a number of other mods provide configurations for it with improved clouds not just for the stock planets, but for other planets provided by other mods.
To use EVE, install the plugin for your version of KSP and a Config.
The sample config in the Files section works for all plugin/KSP versions.

In reply to thwolf1999:
does it work in 1.11.0?
Why did the kerbin become black and white after I installed this mod
It says there's no config? What config? Where do I get it?
In reply to hunterdude44:
See the description above, which includes a link to where you can download the sample config, and a link to how to get the superior SVE config.
In reply to WarwickAllison:
I downloaded the config but it still says I need a config!
does it work on 1.10 ?
In reply to mcjill:
It works mostly for 1.9 and 1.10, but there is a persistent problem when zoomed out with the high quality texture mode. If I manage to fix it, those versions will be officially supported. Until then, you're free to use the 1.8 builds and ignore the problem cases.
In reply to mcjill:
It's working for me.
