💔 Extended Mourning

Grief lasts for 8-18 in-game days, giving the loss of someone close a more lasting impact on your Zoi's life.
Best friends: Extended grief lasts 8 days.
Family: 14 days cycle.
Devoted spouse: 18 days.

🌊 Changing Emotional Waves

Grief isn't constant. Zois experience emotional waves throughout the mourning period, with their feelings changing as they gradually adjust to their loss.

🧠 Personality-Based Coping

A Zoi's personality can influence how they cope. Depending on their traits, grieving Zois may receive different Urges encouraging them to respond to their loss in their own way. These can include seeking support, wanting attention, comforting themselves, spending money or even acting out. Not every personality trait has a unique urge, custom coping urges are only available for supported traits and trait combinations. 

🌳 Visit the Cemetery

Grieving Zois may feel the need to visit the cemetery as part of their mourning. Cemetery visits are supported in both Dowon and Bliss Bay.

❤️ Grieving Close Relationships

Extended Grief can be triggered by the death of close family members, including: Parents • Children • Spouses • Siblings • Grandparents • Grandchildren

A Zoi can also experience Extended Grief after losing their BFF.

Designed to Complement the Base Game

Extended Grief doesn't replace inZOI's normal reactions to death or its funeral system. Instead, it adds a longer period of mourning after a significant loss, allowing the consequences of a death to remain part of your Zoi's life after the initial reaction has passed.

Compatibility & Limitations

Tested with the 48-minute day length and in Dowon and Bliss Bay. Cahaya and 96-minute or longer day settings have not yet been tested.

Future inZOI/ModKit updates, including the expected October update, may require an update to Extended Grief. Check this page for compatibility information after major game updates. Version 1.0
