Description
This is a mix of Peaks Roots biome but made in mind with the survival and movements aspects of Hytale.
Additionally thinking of future content like boats, gliders and other movement-options.
My main goal was to create a beautiful yet dangerous biome with many opportunities to be ambushed by players and the local npcs. Many features are still not integrated even after using nearly all my freetime the last 2 months as I got stuck quite often and repeatedly. The current content contains only a rather great main Biome, containing diffucult terrain to climb and ascend, with many rivers to give some different layers of traversing.
More feature which are/were planned to also add (Some more possible currently than others):
Visual + Gameplay:
- Only very large Trees with heavy cores which should be unable to insta-mine, having none to multiple platforms, connected with rope/wood bridges adding even more layers
- Adding large roots to the large Trees which to quickly ascend/descend different layers
- Big Mushrooms to jump on and quickly ascend/descend different layers
- Shelf Mushrooms to assist climbing steeper walls without building
- Red Crystal illuminating the whole biome in caves and up the trees
- Steeper generation/Mountains
- Cave Generation which connects the layers under and above the water, skipping the rivers
Special Gameplay:
- Zombified Status effect, which can affect all creatures and turn everyone into your enemy
- Spore fog, especially in the water tunnels - that only prepared players may use them safely
- Spore filled Air, similar to normal air but drags down gliders and similar equipment - rendering them not as effective
- Heavy Spore filled Air, similar to Spore filled Air, but also creating a mist reducing the view in and out of it, leaving only silhoutes and strong lights visible
- Heavy wind, temporary negating the effects of the Spore filled air and giving a boost in the current direction of the wind
- Special Mushrooms with strong effects (later also being useable for alchemy)
- Growth Hotspots, special regions which increase mushroom-growth drastically, increased in the middle of the biome - risk and reward
Alternative:
- An alternative Version of this Biome which leans more into the cozy variants, without the risky perks of the special gameplay section
