Duplo TD is a custom tower defense world for Hytale by QubeCore, built around clean progression, boss mechanics, repeatable runs, solo play, duo co-op, and a full in-game onboarding experience.

Defend the Hollow Core, prepare your build, place towers and traps, collect modules, upgrade your permanent progression with Hollow Shards, and survive increasingly dangerous waves across multiple difficulty levels.

Modules

Every 5 waves, you can choose from 9 different modules to strengthen your towers and adapt your build during the run.

Modules let you shape each match differently instead of repeating the exact same setup every time.

Contracts

The mode currently includes contract options, allowing you to modify the run and create additional challenge or variety depending on how you want to play.

Duplo TD includes 4 difficulties:

Bosses

Duplo TD includes multiple boss encounters across solo and duo play.

Each boss is built around its own mechanic and requires a different response from the player instead of being just a bigger health bar.

Solo Mode

In Solo, you manage the full defense by yourself: build, upgrade, choose modules, survive boss pressure, and push into harder repeated runs.

Solo is the best mode for learning the map, understanding the mechanics, and improving your long-term progression.

Duo Mode

Duo mode is now playable.

In Duo, two players use a dedicated co-op setup, choose sides, coordinate defenses, and support the shared defense together.

Coordination matters: each player has responsibilities, but both players are still protecting the same overall objective.

Progression

Outside of the match, you can improve your long-term strength through Hollow Shards.

Permanent progression rewards repeated runs while still keeping individual matches focused on decision-making, timing, and build quality.

Tutorial and Accessibility

The mode includes a full in-game tutorial that explains the basics

This makes Duplo TD much easier to learn without needing external guides.

Asset Provenance

The contest submission avoids AI-generated assets. Source-work proofs are tracked through PSD files in the project repository.

Current Status

Duplo TD is currently focused on a polished solo experience and a playable duo co-op mode.

The project is still in beta, but the main tower defense loop, tutorial, progression, modules, contracts, and co-op structure are already represented in-game.
