YetAnotherShop - PlayerShop Preview & Linking Control Update

This update improves PlayerShop presentation for special items such as Capture Crates and adds more server-owner control over PlayerShop linking rules for ShopBlocks and containers.

Highlights

  • Added improved Capture Crate preview support for PlayerShops.
  • Improved display handling for captured NPC / creature metadata inside shop offers.
  • Improved PlayerShop support for special metadata-based items.
  • Added clearer admin-side control over whether players may link PlayerShops to ShopBlocks.
  • Added clearer admin-side control over whether players may link PlayerShops to containers.
  • Improved safety for servers that want stricter PlayerShop placement and linking rules.
  • Improved compatibility for animal markets, creature trading, pet shops, capture systems, and container-based market setups.

Added: Capture Crate Preview Support

  • PlayerShops can now better preserve and display Capture Crate metadata.
  • Captured NPC / creature information can be recognized and represented more clearly in PlayerShop offers.
  • Capture Crate data is handled as structured custom item data instead of being treated like a generic item stack only.
  • Improved support for captured entity metadata such as captured NPC data and readable captured creature hints.
  • Helps players understand what kind of captured creature, NPC, pet, animal, or special entity-related item is being offered.
  • Improves the shopping experience for servers using animal trading, pet markets, creature capture systems, monster collecting, farm trading, or RPG companion systems.

Improved: PlayerShop Special Item Handling

  • Improved handling for PlayerShop products with important custom item data.
  • Improved matching for items with special metadata so PlayerShop stock validation remains more accurate.
  • Improved preservation of special item identity during listing, stock checks, purchase validation, and inventory handling.
  • Capture Crates and similar metadata-heavy items are less likely to appear as anonymous or unclear generic items.
  • Better support for advanced player-driven markets where items represent more than just a simple item ID.

Added: PlayerShop ShopBlock Linking Control

  • Added / improved admin setting for controlling whether normal players may link PlayerShops to placed ShopBlocks.
  • Server owners can allow or disable PlayerShop ShopBlock linking depending on their server rules.
  • Useful for servers that want ShopBlocks to be admin-controlled, marketplace-only, or limited to specific setups.
  • Helps prevent unwanted PlayerShop activation points in protected areas or uncontrolled locations.
  • Prepared ShopBlock placement and admin workflows remain separate from the player-facing linking permission.

Added: PlayerShop Container Linking Control

  • Added / improved admin setting for controlling whether normal players may link PlayerShops to containers.
  • Server owners can allow or disable PlayerShop container linking independently from ShopBlock linking.
  • Useful for servers that only want specific container-based shop setups.
  • Helps prevent players from linking PlayerShops to unintended chests, crates, barrels, lockers, cabinets, stashes, baskets, or other container-like blocks.
  • Improves control for server marketplaces, roleplay trading hubs, protected shop districts, and curated economy zones.

Improved: Admin PlayerShop Limits

  • PlayerShop linking options are now clearer in the admin PlayerShop limits/settings area.
  • Admins can control PlayerShop block linking and PlayerShop container linking separately.
  • Improved settings clarity for servers that want to allow PlayerShops but restrict how they are placed or accessed.
  • Better separation between normal PlayerShop management and world-object linking permissions.

Improved: Shop Linking Safety

  • Improved control over which world objects may be used as PlayerShop access points.
  • Reduced risk of accidental or unwanted PlayerShop links.
  • Improved compatibility with container-like blocks and capture-crate style setups.
  • Linked PlayerShops remain useful for immersive market stalls while giving admins stricter control when needed.
  • Recommended for servers with marketplace districts, rented shops, protected regions, or roleplay economy areas.

Use Cases

  • Pet shops
  • Animal markets
  • Creature capture markets
  • Monster collecting systems
  • Farm animal trading
  • RPG companion trading
  • Player-run marketplaces

Compatibility Notes

  • Existing ServerShops and PlayerShops continue to work.
  • Normal item offers are not intended to change because of Capture Crate preview support.
  • Capture Crate preview behavior depends on the metadata available on the captured item.
  • PlayerShop ShopBlock linking can be controlled through the player shop linking settings.
  • PlayerShop container linking can be controlled separately through the player shop linking settings.
  • Servers should review existing PlayerShop links before applying stricter linking rules on live servers.
  • Container links are handled separately from physical ShopBlock links to avoid unwanted deletion or cleanup behavior.

Recommended Admin Steps

  • Review the PlayerShop linking settings after updating.
  • Decide whether normal players should be allowed to link PlayerShops to ShopBlocks.
  • Decide whether normal players should be allowed to link PlayerShops to containers.
  • Test existing PlayerShops after changing linking permissions.
  • Test Capture Crate offers in PlayerShops before announcing creature or pet trading to players.
  • Update server rules if players are allowed to sell captured creatures, animals, pets, or NPC-related items.

Summary

This update makes PlayerShops more useful for advanced item economies and gives server owners better control over world-object linking. Capture Crate preview support improves creature, animal, pet, and captured-entity trading, while separate ShopBlock and container linking settings make PlayerShop placement safer and easier to manage on larger servers.
