🏹 TheBasics: Arrow Salvage

TheBasics: Arrow Salvage is not just another arrow pickup mod.

Instead of simply making every missed arrow reusable, this mod adds a configurable recovery system where arrows can be picked back up based on a success chance. By default, arrows have a 25% chance to be recovered, giving archers a nice survival-friendly bonus without turning arrows into infinite ammo.

The system is designed to detect stopped projectile arrows, meaning it works naturally with bows, crossbows, and different arrow types.

You do not need any other mod installed. Arrow Salvage works on its own right out of the box.

🌲 MMO Skill Tree Compatibility
If MMO Skill Tree & Abilities is installed, Arrow Salvage can automatically read the player’s Archery level and increase their arrow recovery chance based on progression.

⚙️ Built for Compatibility
This mod is coded to work with other mods when they are present, while still remaining fully standalone when they are not.

🧠 How It Works

When an arrow misses and becomes stuck, players can walk near it to attempt recovery.

If the recovery roll succeeds, the arrow is returned to the player.
If the recovery roll fails, the arrow is considered broken and removed.

With MMO Skill Tree installed, higher Archery skill means a better chance to salvage missed arrows.

Base recovery chance: 25%

Optional Archery scaling is supported when MMO Skill Tree & Abilities is installed.

🚧 In Progress

I am currently looking into ways to extend the despawn time of stuck arrows so players have more time to recover them.

If you know the proper way to extend Hytale projectile despawn time cleanly through assets or projectile settings, feel free to send me a message. Help is welcome.

Installation

📦 How to Install TheBasics: InfoPages

Download the latest TheBasicsArrowSalvage.jar file.
Place the file into your Hytale mods folder.

⚠️ Notes

To modify arrow recovery: Go to Mods/TheBasics_ArrowSalvage and Edit ArrowSalvage.properties

This mod is standalone, but is designed with compatibility in mind.

More native mod integrations may be added in the future.
