What's new
NEW
The Ashen Wastelands are now available.
- Added four biomes: Ashen Fields, Lava Fields, Petrified Forest, and Obsidian Barrens.
- Added ruined factories, geothermal plants, automated smelteries, logging stations, mines, cooling facilities, research outposts, and rare industrial megacomplexes.
- Added abandoned roads, elevated pipelines, transmission towers, broken chimneys, collapsed viaducts, and ruined factory halls.
- Added volcanic caves, lava rivers and lakes, petrified trees, obsidian formations, vents, geysers, smoke, sparks, and falling ash.
- Added biome-specific fog, volcanic ambience, and ash storms.
- Added the Ashen Wasteland Fragment, crafted from 15 Copper Ingots at a Workbench.
- Enter through an Ancient Gateway and return to the same persistent realm on later visits.
- Updated the realm’s key, portal effects, and portal lighting to deep crimson red.
Five ancient robot types now inhabit the wastelands.
- Lava Robot: Collects lava, tends machinery, and attacks with heavy smashes and burning lava projectiles.
- Cinder Mender: Flies between damaged robots to repair them and restores damaged machinery to its idle state. Defends itself and nearby allies.
- Ash Feller: Harvests natural petrified trees, leaving fallen logs behind. Retaliates with slams, sweeping attacks, and a grapple.
- Ash Hauler: Collects fallen logs, carries up to four, and builds storage piles. Can throw carried logs when provoked.
- Iron Warden: A powerful guardian with dormant and patrol behavior, heavy melee attacks, charges, and ground warnings before its strikes.
Machines accumulate heat while working or fighting. Sustained pressure can force them to overheat, creating an opening to attack.
Industrial alloying expands equipment progression.
Added the Industrial Alloy Furnace, a lava-fueled workstation with two inputs, an output slot, stored fuel, processing progress, and animated machinery.
- Craft the furnace using 16 Iron Ingots, 4 Copper Ingots, and 12 Rock.
- Added reusable Lava Canisters, crafted from 4 Iron Ingots and 1 Copper Ingot.
- Canisters collect lava and transfer fuel into furnaces, including partial refills.
- Lava Robots can collect and deliver fuel to functional furnaces.
- Furnace inventories, fuel, and unfinished processing survive saving and reloading.
- Functional furnaces can also be found in newly generated factories, megacomplexes, and smelteries.
Each default alloy recipe produces one ingot, takes 10 seconds of refining, and consumes 10 lava units:
| Alloy | Ingredients |
|---|---|
| Steel | Iron Ingot + Charcoal |
| Gilded Steel | Iron Ingot + Gold Ingot |
| Mana Steel | Cobalt Ingot + Rainbow Crystal Shard |
| Perfect Steel | Ancient Steel Ingot + Steel Ingot |
| Living Steel | Steel Ingot + Wooden Crystal |
| Red Steel | Adamantite Ingot + Steel Ingot |
Added Ancient Steel as loot from all five robot types, with larger machines generally yielding more. All seven metals have distinct models, textures, and inventory icons.
Four new weapons expand Ranger, Bruiser, and Tank builds.
- Lava Volley Bow — Ranger: Fires a normal Precision-scaled arrow. A successful initial hit can trigger five additional arrows, launched from the player in a wide fan of high, curved trajectories before descending toward the target. Each volley arrow deals 25% of the initial shot’s base damage and applies a 2-second burn. The volley has a 5-second cooldown; normal shots remain available. Ceilings and structures can intercept the barrage.
- Lava-Powered Musket — Ranger: Fires Precision-scaled molten bolts for 54 base damage, igniting targets for 3 seconds. Features a 4.5-second firing cycle, 2.5× aiming zoom, recoil, muzzle smoke, and persistent weapon heat. Three consecutive normal shots reach maximum pressure. Cooling begins after 8 seconds without firing.
- Dreadspine — Bruiser: A two-handed greatsword with 112 normal / 336 charged base damage. Its passive, Hunger for Power, permanently grants that individual sword +2 Strength every 5 valid enemy kills, reaching +20 Strength at 50 kills. Progress follows the weapon through storage and trading; the bonus applies only while wielded. Tooltips display its kills and earned Strength, with dark-red absorption and milestone effects.
- Worldbreaker — Tank: A massive one-handed sword compatible with a shield, scaling primarily with Fortitude and secondarily with Strength. Features a three-hit heavy combo, stagger, and Earthsplitter, a charged slam followed by a traveling ground shockwave. Unshakable reduces incoming damage by 20% and absorbs ordinary knockback during attack wind-ups and active windows. Swings were subsequently slowed to reinforce its heavy combat style.
Three new runes support volcanic combat and mobility.
- Lava Eruption: Marks the ground where you aim, then erupts after a short delay, dealing area fire damage, launching enemies, and applying burning.
- Fiery Explosions: A support rune that makes enemies killed by supported abilities explode, damaging, knocking back, and igniting nearby enemies. These explosions do not chain.
- Pressure Jump: Releases a pressure blast beneath the caster, launching them upward and knocking away nearby enemies. Can be used in midair as another jump and protects against the resulting fall.
Lava Eruption and Fiery Explosions use Red Steel and Lava Gel in their recipes. Pressure Jump uses Living Steel and Lava Gel.
Five late-game class armor sets have been added and updated.
All five sets feature custom models, textures, crafting recipes, and four-piece abilities. Their names are now shortened to Shadowhunter, Magister, Bastion, Dread, and Warden.
| Set | Class | Current full-set primary bonuses |
|---|---|---|
| Shadowhunter | Ranger | +70 Precision |
| Magister | Mage | +70 Arcana |
| Bastion | Tank | +80 Fortitude |
| Dread | Bruiser | +55 Strength, +30 Fortitude |
| Warden | Support | +70 Holy |
These totals reflect the latest stat increases; other armor stats remain unchanged.
- Shadowhunter — Predator’s Focus: Successful ranged attacks build Precision stacks. At maximum stacks, gain additional ranged damage and movement speed. Misses and inactivity reduce stacks.
- Magister — Arcane Echo: Every third successful rune cast repeats after a short delay without another mana payment.
- Bastion — Immovable Fortress: Taking a monster hit activates a defensive stance, granting Fortitude and additional Fortitude for nearby enemies at the cost of movement speed.
- Warden — Divine Intervention: Prevents a nearby player’s killing blow, restores their health, removes debuffs, and grants a brief escape window. Has a five-minute cooldown.
- Dread — Dread Knight’s Execution: Replaces Bloodlust. Melee attacks against enemies below 30% maximum health deal 35% additional damage. Melee kills release a 4-block shockwave, dealing 40% of the killing blow’s damage before the execution bonus, capped at 150 by default. Survivors are briefly staggered and knocked back. Shockwave kills can continue the effect for up to three generations.
Armor descriptions now contain a short flavour text followed by the full-set effect. Set progress and completion use brief action-bar notifications; the persistent right-side armor panel has been removed.
Additional balance, visual, and usability improvements:
- Arcana now increases natural mana regeneration by 0.5% per point.
